Pointless Fact, that is the first place I ever drove to on my own in my own car :D
(There was a mini show on on the sunday after I got my first mini.)

Hooton park, is next to the Vauxhall factory in Ellesmere port, they used to hold north west indoor mini days there twice a year in the late 90's, one at each end of the year :D

They also had a few ex works rally Vauxhalls in there, a bunch of Manta's in the Andrews Heat for Hire livery and I think there was the abolished group S Astra there as well.

Ah nice! Most of what I've seen there now are Bedford trucks, DAFs and a Morris or 2 :D Haven't had a proper snoop around though.

I'm doing a quick inventory of vehicles past and present for their site which I'm updating for them but not sure which ones they still have tucked away.

I'm stuck in the office when I'm on site freezing my butt off

The ones I've been told to list are:

Bedford OWL (1942)

Bedford TM

Bedford TM (1982)

Land Rover Series One 88

DAF 1700 Recovery (1989)

DAF 1900 (1989)

Ford Thames Trader (1962)

Ford Thames Trader (1963)

Ford Thames Trader (1967)

Kew Dodge (1949)

Kew Dodge (1950)

Morris Commercial FV12/5/R (1949)

Morris Commercial FV12/5/R (1952)

One or 2 may be getting removed or replaced though as they're the inventory from the old site. I'll be changing the site over in the next few weeks sometime once I've made all the changes they ask this week.

Website I'm developing for them for my coursework is now live at www.griffintrust.org.uk

All content was written by them, I assume no responsibility for any mistakes / typos lol.

Finishing it off and adding in the last few bits this weekend.

Looks good. Nice clean code.

I only noticed image tags are still using properties, whereas I would set the image widths from a css class. I would also make the pages xhtml transitional if you can and pass them through the validator. http://validator.w3.org/

Thanks!

Would xhtml still allow CSS3 things like gradients and rounded edges? I was under the impression HTML5 has to be used with it??

Just spotted a few <a tags that and in /li> :double lol

Yes, you can use CSS3 with XHTML. HTML5 still hasn't been finalised yet.. a work in progress. And all it actually is, is a set of guidelines. It still combines XHTML, CSS3 and Javascript, but adds a couple of new html tags for video embedding.

It is worth running any site through the validator though as it will flag up any tag errors.

Yup I learned about validator last year and used it a little but this is the first site I've developed for anyone that's actually going live

I don't appear to be doing too badly, most pages are only showing a few repetitions of the odd error and many are passing without error :D

And thanks for that I thought HTML5 and CSS3 were an exclusive pair, as they tend to be together whenever you hear about them

Remember there is also XHTML 5, which is the stricter XML parsed version of HTML. I prefer to code all pages in XHTML so I know they are all as clean as possible and will work on as many different browsers and platforms as possible. CSS3 is a separate entity and the big difference between CSS2 and 3 is that it has now been split into modules.

@ AmiNeo

Someone needs to tell them that the Russian aircraft is an Antonov... not an 'Antinov'. Also, the first picture on the Antonov slides is of a Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 Fishbed, if I am not mistaken.

 Nice Merlin... Think its worth revising? :blased:

Send them an email through the contact form and see what they say ;)

Turns out they've had it spelt both ways by various volunteers. Not being my responsibility to check their grammar I assumed it was the same all through but there are some references to it being spelt with an O instead of the I looking deeper into it. I will revise. Thanks for that

Yup, it's a MiG-21...

This is from the Griffin site...

Here's a Mig-21 in flight...

What's that you're saying Merlin? Do they have some other mistakes in the text?

1 hour 20 later i think i got all of the references and fixed them

@ AmiNeo

The Antonov gallery has the picture of the MiG-21 as the first slide. As far as I can tell, the MiG doesn't have an airscrew (propeller) on the front, but the Antonov does...

The other pictures in that gallery are OK.

What are you using to edit the site? If you had the site in Dreamweaver you could just have done a global search cross the whole site to find and replace all references.

Dreamweaver CS2 is even free these days.

Ah I like editing oldschool. I have Dreamweaver but I use nothing but notepad++ and an image editor :D

@ Merlin, I see what you're referring to now. The first few images in that gallery are the Antonov's 'friends' from the airfield they picked it up at ;)
Click on the I icon above the galleries and there will be a short line of caption text above some of the images

If parts of the site dont seem as well designed as they could be, its because I've had to rush it like crazy. I've been at this 4 months and for 3 of them the trust kept me hanging and giving me nothing to work with. I wound up just going with it only to have to revise and rename all the images and half the sites text in the last week.

I'm now 4 weeks behind on my coursework thanks to the stress and anxiety this has cause me, but its just about ready to sign off now. I have a 4000 word essay to write before I can hand this in, and lots of production screenies to print and document in a nice chunky folder :D.

The next thing I need to do is finish and get server side scripting into a website I'm doing for another client who has pretty much given up on any form of communication., so I have no idea what server side I can put in it to suite. And that has to be done ideally by next week. :picard lol.

After that I have a Cisco network to document and configure, I will be fine with that.

Then its all databases, systems analysis and C# for the rest of the year :D:D:D
