@ ALL

I'm sorry guys, but the M-TEC 630 is reserved for Cyberstormer,
hence the bold & underlined "RESERVED" text in the first post.

@thread

Wasn't I first in line?

Cyberstormer didn't even express interest in this thread.

The easy answer is NO.

See post #1 and this comment

Better luck next time :)

Just for clarification.

I thought per rules we all have to state first our interest in public?

Not on a reserved thread as the seller themselves post the interest for the person it is reserved for.

AFAIK this is the way it has always been on AmiBay.

Since there's no specific rule regarding reservations, one would think that everyone MUST state interest in the thread or risk his offer to be declared null and void wrt the people who did. There's a flagrant hole here.

Mind you, I'm not interested in this item at all, just stating an opinion :)

@tactica

Opinions are welcome and appreciated. They are what helps us to word the rules on AmiBay.

@ Cyberstormer

Money arrived, many thanks! :thumbsup: I'll send you the M-TEC630 A.S.A.P.
PM with track&trace info will follow.

Hi Davideo.

1 - Is there a place where we can discuss the way auctions are supposed to work on Amibay, especially on this reservation case, or is it better to send you a PM on this subject, and if so, is it then discussed between all moderators ?

2 - Because since months now I feel, and it seems other people feel too, that : if an item has to be "reserved for someone", why the auction is made then ? I mean isn't it logical to first contact the persone it has been reserved for, then if this person does NOT accept, the auction is made ? I find it irrelevant to post something that makes people think "I have my chance on this item !!" but in fact no.

At the beginning I thought that the sellers made a reference to ppl stating a "WANTED" in the respective section, but nope...

Thanks for your answers ;)

@Robpulsar

The easiest way to bring a problem to the attention of the Mods and Admins is to use the report post button. Which is the small triangle at the bottom of all posts with an ! in it.

I've done this for your post above. This way we can discuss it between the Mods and Admins.

You are welcome to send me a PM with any further information you would like us to discuss.

To clarify this "reserved" thread: Cyberstormer contacted me by PM to ask if I had an A600 accelerator for sale. I had this M-TEC 630 which I didn't use anymore, so the answer was "yes". We then agreed to make a thread to make the deal "official",
so we can give each other feedback afterwards. That's all. It's done this way here on AmiBay
a lot of times before.

As far as I'm concerned you have done nothing wrong. Reserved threads operate in the same fashion on AmiBay all the time.

But as Robpulsar has asked for a discussion on the subject then it won't hurt for the Admins and Mods to discuss it.
