Hi

I have one Mediator 4000D and one Picasso IV. Both boards works fine but I have one strange issue.

RTG screens looks great, clear & full color ( I work at 1024x768 24 bit with Picasso IV). But old modes appears like "blue"......

Video passthrough & SD/FF works fine I tested with two different CPU boards & Picasso's.... the same problem.... old screens (WB PAL & games) appears like "Blue".....

- Background of the boot screen is dark blue
- WB PAL & WHDLoad games looks like "blue"
- All tests sais everything is working OK
- I tested also the "Sync to Green" option.... no way.
- Also tested with all jumpers options & updates on Mediator.
- Firmware of Picasso's are the lastest
- Changing Mediator for "standard" daugtherboard.... everything works fine.

Any idea?

Thanks

Maybe (really maybe) ZORRO Video slot on Mediator is not delivering one of 4 (or 3??? don't remember now) bits for blue colour.
How to check it?
Please check the Vidoe Slot specification which pins are going to blue colour.
Once done, lease check if there is a connection between A4000 mobo and corresponding pin in Video Slot.

In short - looks like you have bad solder/bad contact in Video Slot on Mediator.

Hi again....

I'm going to be crazy...... The "Blue AGA Screens" issue continue. :(

@stachu100

I'm not an expert but using also magnification lens... the contacts on Mediator Video Slot seems to be OK.

Is a very bad situation, because I really want to use the PicassoIV -AGA & RTG WB- in conjunction with Voodoo3 3000 for Warp3D -for some games & applications-.

Now if I want to "use" Warp3D and also a nice AGA WB, I need to take out Picasso IV and re-install Indivision.... :(

As I said before... with the "standard" daugther board PicassoIV works like a charm.

Maybe is needed an special config at the mobo/Mediator 4000D?

I wrote to Elbox, but no answer.....

Any help will be very much appreciated...:bowdown::bowdown:

Best wishes

Hiyas my friend, this is likely a capacitor fault on the motherboard let me hit the spec's after dinner and I will be able to advise which to change =)

while I am searching, can you do a test for me?

Test 1.
What output do you get from the native 23pin Video port?

Do you have a way to connect a monitor to the Video Port of the A4000 Motherboard?
Do you still have the same issue of a blue-washed screen?

Hi m8 (y)

Sorry, I don't have the possibility to test now.

The only possibility is to test with the RGB to Video/SVHS I bought time a go. But I'm waiting......

I have only one "standard" RGB to VGA adapter but no monitor of 15khz..... :(

Mobo is a refurbished one I bought here time a go. As seller said, all capacitors are new, also a reworked audio circuit, new battery, etc.....

Of course I'm not an expert, but with the "standard" daugther board everything works OK..... This issue is only with Mediator......

Hi my friend

I reveived today the RGB-to-SVHS adapter from Amigamaniac.

Workbench looks great (PAL HiRes 256 colors), colorfull and no flicker. Of course, is not the same quality of Indivision's, but after this test, I think the RGB out is 100% working. :)

Best wishes

indeed - I agree my friend,

I wonder what the mediator is introducing that would pullup the blue on the Analouge RGB.. - i wonder if changing sync

okay we have a couple of things we can try

J500 - Sync on green

try shorting 2-3, or 1-2 pending on what its currently set

if still no joy, return back to original and lets try

J502 _CSYNC ACSYNC

Short pins 2-3, or 1-2, again pending on whats already set

then if no joy try changing J500 while J502 is in its new state.

If still no luck return all jumper back to original setting.

please make sure that you turn the A4000 off each time you want to change a jumper =)

Hi again,

Yesterday finally I tested the system again...

Finally I find the problem... a bad contact in Mediator 4000D board.

To work fine I need to put the Mediator not totally inserterd in the mobo socket... (Picasso IV & daughter board fully inserted works fine).... :(

PicassoIV & Voodoo3 works, but I need to find a better solution... I cleaned all contacts at the mobo connector & Mediator but no way.. Only with the contacts mid inserted works fine....

Well is not good but not too bad..... The adventure continue.....

I will update thread when I find a solution....

Thanks to all & Best wishes

I had the same issue with red on a Cybervision 64/3d with scan doubler. The picture from the Cybervision was perfect, but when viewing native screens via the passthrough, everything was a pinkish hue.

I tracked it down to a dry solder point on the Cybervision 64 board. Of course, this may not help you, but it might give you some ideas. :)

Hi again,

Ufff! All is working great now..... :bounceBoingBall:

I dismounted all system, then I noticed the spacers included with Mediator are a bit longer than expected ( near to 3mm) and the board have a little angle when installed..

So, I made a Dremel job on all spacers to make it a little bit shorter..... Now Mediator is pararell to the mobo and.... all woks fine....... :woot::ROTFLOL2::woot:

System is working now with Picasso IV & Voodoo3 without issues.

Thanks to all for your help

Best wishes
