I've got poseidon 3.8. It's crippled, though...and not registered. Oh well :) I'll figure something out I suppose.

I don't have any floppy drives on my pc! It sucks lol. And two laptops, no floppy drives...argh. I asked ELBOX to send the files, hopefully they do.

Ah, 3.8. So we'll still have to see about that cryptic 4.4 statement.
If you've registered with Elbox I see no reason they shouldn't send them, in fact I see no reason why they shouldn't eventually upload them to their website as they're pretty useless without the hardware.

And get a floppy drive! In fact I forgot the most obvious suggestion previously:
"Mod a PC floppy drive for your Amiga!"
...but then you say you don't even have one in your PC, let alone a spare one to mod :P

Ok, I got the fastata drivers from ELBOX. Currently running in PIO 5 mode with no issues :) I don't really notice much difference, but so far it seems like there are cpu/ram bottlenecks holding me back from a lot.

So now, here's what I've got:
a4000/040, 2mb chip, 16mb fast
Mediator
SB128 (working)
TV Card (working - but with digital only cable in the USA, not really useful)
Fast Ethernet (working)
Voodoo 3 3000 (working - AMAZING wb screens!)
Cybervision 64/3D with Scandoubler (working - perfect for gaming)
Fast ATA MK V (Working with CF card attached)
Cocolino (working)

Turning out to be quite a fun computer :) I was considering doing a full howto/writeup for this, since most of the documented mediator setups are on websites that are now down and need to be crawled with internet archive. If you guys think this is a good idea, let me know.

Future of my a4k: 060/PPC is my dream upgrade. Also need cdrom, working floppy (ordered one already) and re-cap some things on the mobo. I'd also like to get a monitor with two inputs and smart switching. Does anyone know where I can find one of these?

Thanks again for all the help guys. For the most part, it turns out that what was holding me back was drivers. Not having the right drivers caused the hardware to fail miserably...but once I figured things out with ELBOX, things are awesome!

By all means do compile the HOWTOs, it's a great idea, not just good ;)
I'm personally on a similar hardware track and could use some info.
(A1200T + Mediator + Voodoo + SB PCI 128 + RTL8139 + BT87x)

As for the PIO 5 mode, it's supposed to offer 20 MB/sec but is your CF card up to that speed? I'd say test with a good IDE hard drive in good old PIO 4 to see if you feel any difference, 16.6 MB/s is plenty and any half-recent 8 mb cache IDE drive would be able to make good use of it even in non-sustained transfers.

I have no idea about the monitor, the one I plan to use won't autoswitch. An old CRT-type iiYama VisionMaster 451 I used to own did ;) If I could find such a beast these days I'd buy it without second thoughts.
