Hi all,
There was a previous thread like this one a few weeks ago, and the user managed to pick one up, so I thought it is worth a shot as well.

I'm looking for DKB MegaChip without the Agnus chip for my A2000.

Does it have to be a DKB MegAChip? There is someone here making alternatives that solder in place of the Agnus. You or someone you know would need to be able to de-solder the old Agnus socket and solder the adapter direct or add pin-headers.

Hi alexh,

Thanks for the suggestion, I do know about those units, picked one up from 8 bit dreams a few months ago, not really what I am after tho.

With the A2000 motherboard I am working on ATM, I have already replaced the 84 pin PLCC socket previously (due to a flaky socket).
I really do not want to add any further heat stress on the PCB eyelets and tracks if possible by removing it again.

That is why I prefer a Megachip with the male type 84 pin plug adapter that just pushes into the Agnus socket, trying to avoid any further stress on the MB.

I have a couple of spare 8375 Agnus(2MB), and really did not want to go down the expensive ACE2 path.

cheers,

There is a guy on eBay who sells Agnus'less Megachips In the form factor I think you are looking for, but not sure if he would ship to Australia though

I will PM you the link

Thanks, will check it out.

Update:
Thanks for the info, exactly what I am after, unfortunately the seller is taking no messages, so no way to ask him whether he would
post the item to Oz.

Any type, as long as it has the adapter to push into the PLCC 84 pin socket. Not after the the de-solder the socket type units

Still looking, also interested in a unit with Agnus as well
