This was by far my favourite game on the amiga way back when.
I was known to play full seasons at full race lengths.

Guess what arrived with my a1200hd today?

A boxed Microprose F1GP which looks like I bought it from a game
shop this morning. Mint is not the word , it is simply perfect.

I also got some wierd nigel mansell racing wheel thingy that
looks like it has never been out of the box.

Anyway time for some dum dum dee da da da da da da dum :D

I have to agree with you about F1GP from MicroProse.

By all means, the best racing simulation for the Amiga, I was also one of the few abnormal guyz that used to play it with 100% qualify and race duration, as well as in full pro level. :p

Hmmm not quit to your level, not 100% practice or qualifying, but no assisted braking, no racing line and manual gears but suggested gear on.

Ok hold on I'm about to wet my pants!!!!

In the other discs that came with the machine is a set of discs called F1GP 95
im guessing it is a fully GPEdited version of f1gp with 95 car models and track models.

Mwuahaahaha.........

Yes indeed as suspected the cars and drivers are 95 season i think , definately different to original. Don't know about track models yet tho...

Hold off on the pampers whilst I have a play to find out......

No new track models, guess that was wishing but cars and teams different.
God it looks poo on my 40" widescreen Led TV may have to get a really cheap
amiga monitor from somewhere.

It was never that bad.

I know i maybe remembering too fondly but im sure it looked better than this.

It's really good to see someone so excited about amiga hardware :)

You remind me of steve who came here to get rid of a couple of old miggies and has established an impressive collection.

This was by far my favourite game on the amiga way back when.

I think I saw that F1GP-ED has just been put on aminet with a free keyfile.
Never used it but to play this with 2010 season data would be great.

Hoping Mclaren use Jenson as a battering ram in the first corner next weekend :p

No not that he can win so that there is some juctice for Alonso not getting his 25 points stripped for his "team gifted" win. (n)
Hoping Webber gets it now.

Hmmm a 2010 update would be nice but unless someone can make the new tracks then a bit pointless...

Not getting into arguments about who should win tho..

Sounds really cool; I could imagine playing classic Amiga games on huuuge modern TVs is not going to flatter them sadly.. I think I had a 14" TV back in the day and that kinda compresses the detail nicely.

F1 GP is an incredible achievement given the hardare it could run on and the amount of storage it required. Similar feat to Elite on the 48k ZX Spectrum!:D:cool:
