Hi!,

Hoping to find someone in UK to repair my Microvitec 1438. It is wobbily and flickery, all controls "nearly" work on it, presumably pots and caps and stuff?

Many thanks!

yeah, ill have a look at it,you would have to get it to me somehow, preferably drop it down in person etc

if it has an adaptor, bring that as well

this was dropped down today, ill look at it when im able

neck board is full of cracked solder joints, and i accidently broke one of the control shafts when i was taking it apart, possibly brittle plastic, ill have to repair that

this is now repaired, let me try to explain what i did

i replaced a few capacitors on certain power rails, one was getting hot in use, nothing to do with the fault it came for, wobbly picture
but its best to replace them,in this case

it had loads of dry joints on the tube neck board,so i sorted that(rgb driver transistors etc)

picture had too much green in it,so ive oviously done that, its a balance

now this is where it gets interesting, the wobbly picture was infact the pots on the front control panel..
and this is were it gets weird;strange as a fault,i removed all the pots and cleaned them internally, that meant strippingthem and removing the wiper
now..when you remove the wiper, you have no continuity to the center pin if the wiper is removed right? nope, all the front controls had continuity from the outside pins to the center pin with the wiper removed,i havnt seen that, take into acount these are plastic pots not metal,so its not tin wiskers? very bizzare

i replaced the shaft i broke by accident,i had to make one,but thats on me

pictures below to show it works properly,my camera had trouble taking pictures so please be kind, its alot better in person
trust me it works properly, last two pictures are in vga i wanted to make sure that mode worked
