This motherboard expands your C16 beyond its capabilities,
it will look like:
-64k ram (will also be able to run all PLUS4 games)
- you can choose to use it in Jiffydos (you lose the TAPE but you speed up the disk, if it is also Jiffy)
-choose whether the machine will have the PAL or NTSC standard (in the photo the artificial lines are due to my TV which does not accept the NTSC standard well)
-like the PLUS4 you can start the related integrated software from the function keys
(the PAL/NTSC and DOS/JDOS selection is made using a double DIP-SWITCH, see photo, with the computer turned off, or by following it with a machine reset)
Technically better:
- protection diode against reverse voltages, useful to save the board when you have problems with the power supplies and their cables
-the port that drives the keyboard, the ROMs and the PLA are replaced with modern chips that consume less and heat up less
-the internal power supply section has been completely replaced with a DC-DC converter bringing the absorption from about 750mA to about 280mA with a proportional reduction of the heat generated inside the machine
-the rare and very delicate CPU has been replaced with a more reliable "6502A" + CPLD (derived from "CPU4C16") with very high compatibility (almost total..) and its pins that reach the outside have been reinforced against static discharges (ESD) increasing the reliability of the CPU over time, the video chip (TED) has been completely shielded from static discharges that could arrive from the joystick ports protecting its health over time...
I add a power supply (not original) 100-240V 50/60Hz AC-DC converter to power this multistandard board!
