Just ordered one of these from you through Ebay after reading this post, it sounds like a very handy way of doing what can be done with the old Spectrum files, no need to use worn out tapes anymore :)

Cheers,
Allen.

Thank you.

I will ship tomorrow, now I'm going to send you an email with the links for the games and manuals

Kindly Regards

Thanks for the reply, its always nice to see modern technology being used with our old computers. This would have made someone very wealthy if it had been around when the Commodore computers were common place, its still an excellent interface and will allow people to put all those tapes away after they have converted the ones they want :)

The Email has just arrived so I am off to read the manual etc ;)

All the very best,
Allen.

Just updating the thread to mention that the kit has arrived today, it was very well protected and looks great.

Will build it later as I have to go somewhere this afternoon ;)

I don't know if this can be done, I am just asking:

Can you use the MP32C64 Datassette emulator kit to transfer TAP and T64 files to real tapes? or the only way to do this is through building an X1531 tape connector cable and mtap?

I haven't tried doing that myself but I would assume that once you have converted the TAP or T64 files to MP3, then you could use the MP3s as an audio source to write back to tape (may work for non multi-loader games) but you would have to try yourself. The kit comes with everything needed to do the converting to MP3 as well as the hardware to replace the need for a tape deck, for the price of the kit its really worth getting even if you just use the software to make MP3s to record back to tape.

You can do but need some aditional hardware: a PCB with edge datassette conection (I have some for sale).
I'm in process to do a new kit with all this included, it could be ready in 1-2 months.

You need to convert TAP or T64 files first to WAV using WAWPRG or Audiotap. If you want to write back to tape, use the WAV file instead of the MP3 one.
The MP3 file is loosing some quality of the original wav, although it works.

I'm in process to make a new kit including the record to tape function using the datassette.

The programs used are distributed under the GNU General Public License so they can be downloaded and used for free.
