Hi

unfortunately I have to pass on my beloved Philips MSX2 along with a few 'priceless' expansions. I want do this as a complete package, it'll be better for the buyer too as each is required to get the most from MSX.. its tough to get all the right stuff together.

Asked price for this lot is £100 paypal please plus shipping, expected c. £15 or £20 (??tbc) as it's heavy! Can also be picked up in High Wycombe or possibly Potters Bar. UK preferred, signed for delivery service only.

[EDIT price drop to £90. It seems that yodel, pick up point to pick up point will reduce the carriage significantly as well. Still prefer UK only but will consider options from overseas :) ]

The Philips 8250 MSX2 is an awesome machine, high quality and a bit of a beast. Very out of sight, its been a real eye opener; great games, great scene, loads to play with and learn about too. Anyway.. 3 items in the bundle:

1) Philips 8250, a 'VHS style' MSX2 with separate keyboard, high quality RGB scart out, a certain quirkiness. Selected mods, - fast disk rom, sound bug fixed, good single 3.5" drive, plus I was able to get an internal audio mixer / amp board to fix a known bug with the cart slots.

It's VGC, though has some scratches and some worn away 'coating' on the edges of the keyboard as expected for its age, but it's clean, solid and works perfectly. Extra pics can be uploaded or sent.

2) 1024kb MEGAFLASHROM SCC+ cartridge. Load roms onto this and as suitable will play with full Konami SCC sound from the SCC chip within the cart. 1024k flash rom, various mappers, transfer tools available.

Mint in box with manual.

3) twin MMC/ SD disk emulator cart. Has twin SD slots so you can load .dsk files, roms, load and run basic and ldr files as if off floppy; ie loads of games! Even can run CP/M. Also has MS DOS kernal 2.31 (you want this).

It took months and months to source one of these wonderful cards (the msx has a few flash card alternatives but it seems are old hat, made only once every few years or are permanently unobtainable). This board by L Padial "LPE-MMC-V7BKP" works with MSX1 and MSX2.

Great bit of kit in a custom cart case.

sd card manual attached for info. No tv or games included. a 'blank' small MMC card will be!

I wish I had the money to spare.

Been after one of these for years.
Beautiful system indeed

TC

I'm in the same boat as TC - really fancy this but funds are limited just now. I'm also after the music keyboard that works with the MSX (can't remember what it's called). Having that and this setup would be too good to refuse hehe.

Good luck Iain
