I'm selling a flicker fixer and scandoubler for AGA and ECS big box machines: the open-source MultiFix-AGA board from Matze. This board is of the latest hardware revision v0.3. You'll find detailed information here: https://gitlab.com/MHeinrichs/multifix-aga

All line buffers and field memory ICs are placed in precision sockets and all components on the board are populated. The board has been successfully tested and it is ready for plug'n'play.

Features of MultiFix-AGA:
  • supports AGA and ECS machines Amiga 2000/3000/4000
  • the resulting picture is sharp and crystal clear
  • supported resolutions: LoRes, LoRes Interlace, HiRes, HiRes Interlace
  • tested on PAL machines. NTSC mode in PAL machines works also well
  • internal GfX pinheader is compatible with the "GBAPII++"
  • no need for an adjustable capacitor as in the Commodore A2320 de-interlacer board - this was solved with an ICS570 clock multiplier
  • sync on green capability
  • positive and negative blank select
  • external USB connector, but only to power external devices such as HDMI converters. There is no USB functionality!
  • headphone connector to directly bypass the audio signals from the Amiga video slot.
There are two switches at the back of the board. The first one allows for activating a true 15kHz signal bypass, e.g. for multisync monitors. The second switch activates a true blank signal that facilitates to show a black color instead of a dark grey on many monitors. This switch is meant for some games, however, the Workbench might get too dark when activating this option.

The internal GfX pinheader of the MultiFix-AGA can be directly connected to the GfX board "GBAPII++" using a 14-pin ribbon cable. The GBAPII++ has an integrated Ratte monitor switch for automatically switching between the outputs of the MultiFix-AGA and the GfX board. The monitor will then be connected to the MultiFix-AGA output.

I have also two GBAPII++ for sale, see this link!

The cut-out for the video slot in the back of the cases differ between the models A2000 and A3000/A4000. The external USB connector on the board is arranged at an unfavorable position for A2000 cases. The position is too low, so that you can't physically connect USB plugs into the USB connector. However, the position is fine for A3000/A4000 models.

Please note:
  • the board doesn't provide USB functionality and the USB port is only to power external devices, unless you connect a USB host (such as Deneb or RapidRoad) to the internal pinheader
  • the board was not tested in NTSC machines that may need a different timing
  • the board is not compatible with A2000 v4.x boards
  • the board is not compatible with OCS Denise
  • in A2000 models, jumper J300 (near odd CIA) must be set to position 1-2 (TICK must be generated by PSU, not by Agnus).

Price is €135 plus shipping (PayPal F&F or buyer pays fees).
Shipping costs (tracked and insured) within Germany are €6, within the EU €16, to Switzerland and UK €28. Please ask for shipping to other countries.

Declaring interest. I understand this will work with AGA and A4000, but will it display all AGA colors?
Yes, the board is able to display the complete AGA palette.
