Here is another project of mine, Built Amiga 2000!
This is a big project and taken me over a week to build!
20240728_175232.jpg

Stage 1: I Did all Diodes and Transistors.

20240728_185059.jpg

Stage 2: I Did all Ferrite beads and axial fuses.

20240729_192057.jpg

Stage 3: I did all Resistor Networks.

20240731_215343.jpg

Stage 4: I added Zorro slot 3 x RCA jacks RGB port and 2 x 9 pin ports to protect the components while i was soldiering and added all resistors too!

20240805_190315.jpg
Stage 5: I added all Ceramic Capacitors Axial and Radial type. that taken me the longest to do as there was shed loads to do! and added Electrolytic capacitors too!

20240807_181117.jpg

Stage 6: I Added the rest of the I/O Sockets, power connector, battery holder, Video Hybrid, Crystal Oscillator, Jumpers, Floppy header and Power Led Header!

20240807_212726.jpg

Stage 7: I Added All EMI capacitors

20240808_221507.jpg

Stage 8: Added all Sockets!

20240809_210302.jpg

Stage 9: Added all Zorro, ISA Slots and video slot too!

20240811_130007.jpg

Stage 10: Installed all Chips ! She looks like an Amiga 2000 now! She has a bluster chip not buster!
Now time to test!

20240811_130638.jpg

It power on and no smoke that a good sign!

20240811_130513.jpg

Kickstart 3.1 screen came up and it's alive!
Now to put Amiga test kit in and run all test!

20240811_130643.jpg

As you can see, Amiga boots floppy drive okay no issues, It has kickstart 3.1 ROM and OCS and pal too!

20240811_130650.jpg

I added Zorro 8MB ram card to see if zorro Cards work! and yes it does, but there is an issue, More on this a bit further down!

20240811_130742.jpg

Tested all CIA's all working correctly

20240811_130752.jpg

Serial port Working!

20240811_130800.jpg

Parallel Port Working!

20240811_130809.jpg

tested RGB, Sound, mouse, joypad and keyboard all working!

20240810_081318.jpg

Game Boot fine and working!
Now here is an issue i have with Zorro Bus!

20240811_131150.jpg

This is 8 Mb ram card it works on my A500 plus and 4000D with no issues but when i put it into this A2000 it comes up with errors! but only on Amiga test kit software!
I have clean card, re flowed all Zorro sockets just in case of cold joint and tried all 5 Zorro slots and same result error. and i have change the jumper on card to 4mb and same result!
However I Have notice when I first switch Amiga on with or without Zorro card installed I get a green screen flash for like half second then it's gone and boots fine. (not same green screen as if you have chip ram error, it's a darker green screen)

20240811_135603.jpg

I booted to workbench and filled up ram disk with floppy disks to make memory full to see if Amiga crashes from that error in Amiga test Kit, But no it didn't crash it filled memory up and was working fine no issues! as you can see in photo! which is weird that it works in workbench without any issues!

20240811_175004.jpg

then I put in DiagRom and did Ram test on that with all 5 Zorro slots that had taken a while to do but no Issues there either!

So if anyone has an idea on why It has a green screen on power up only (warm boot is fine) and why Amiga test kit showing error on fast ram, then any feedback would be great!
I got feeling something to do with bluster!

Blue PCB looks sleek!
Strange that ATK finds errors in the memory test.
First I would suggest to retest using the latest available version v1.21

Last time I've seen memory errors it was Chip RAM in my A1000 when used with PiStorm - reason was bad contact of one pin in CPU socket.

Okay will download new version and give it a test, thank you

This looks great. I have been without a "hardware" Amiga for 18 years now. At that time I sold off my A2000. Looking to get some feedback on building a big-box Amiga using one of the re-Amiga boards. Whose MB did you use? (Just saw that it is Floppy209 MB). How much was the manufacturing cost? And what parts were the most difficult to source?

I got my kit off ebay, guy on there who selling both A500 plus and A2000 boards as part or full kit, have a look!

I still get same issue with latest version of Amiga test kit!

Here is that green screen I mentioned in my first post, it's only there when first power on then it gone and Amiga boots normally!
Anyone have any idea what this could be, it's there with and without zorro card installed.

Here is an update on what i have found out with my Amiga 2000 issue!
First i bought myself original Amiga 2000 rev 6.2 motherboard to compare it to my Amiga 2000 motherboard base on rev 6.2
20240816_181530.jpg
here is original Amiga 2000 with my kickstart 3.1 ROM and 8mb Zorro Ram card

20240816_182039.jpg

I did full test on Amiga test kit and as you can see no issues with ram!

20240816_182149.jpg

Then did same test on same motherboard with Bluster this time not Buster!

20240816_182225.jpg

As you can see it comes back as errors on Ram Card! Bluster is rev b so now I know it bluster is the issue not My Amiga 2000 motherboard!

20240816_182410.jpg

This is my Amiga 2000 motherboard that I assembled and with buster (from the original Amiga 2000 )

20240816_182829.jpg
As you can see no issues with ram card So it 100% bluster issue but i have no way of reprogramming it at the moment!

The screen green issue i mention from first posted is Denise issue as i have move my Denise from My Amiga 2000 to Original Amiga 2000 and same issue green screen when first power on, and i have tried the Original Denise from Original Amiga 2000 in my Amiga 2000 and fully working with no screen screen on power on, so my Amiga 2000 is fully working just a issue with Denise and Bluster chips, which i need to look into!

Perhaps it would be a good idea to report the issue you are facing to Matt:

Another update,
So i decided to install buddha IDE and Amigakit fast ram card to see if she boot to hard disk with fast ram, Yes she does Using kickstart 3.1
20240818_162931.jpg

I did another Ram test but this time no errors that is with both Buddha IDE card and Zorro II RAM card , NO errors

20240818_162935.jpg

then i decided to Install all My zorro cards to see if Amiga can boot with them installed and YES she boots without any issues!

20240818_163226.jpg

No conflict, and no errors all working as they should be!

20240818_163231.jpg
20240818_163352.jpg

20240818_163420.jpg

20240818_164436.jpg

Then i decided to install kickstart 1.3 ROM and give that a test!

20240818_164427.jpg

another RAM test under Kickstart 1.3 ROM with all cards installed and no errors!

20240818_165131.jpg

Even with just a Audio card and Zorro II Fast ram card no issues!
20240818_165135.jpg

But if only go back to just Zorro II fast ram card then the error comes back, So i now know it's a DMA issues with bluster and Amigakit Zorro II Fast ram card.
But not really an issue if you have more then one Zorro Card installed, So i am classing this Amiga fully working now!

little update, I have now replace Denise with super Denise and i don't get screen screen when power on
2nd thing i have done is replace bluster with buster and i don't get any ram issues now.
it for sale on here if anyone want to buy it.

Awesome!

I am surprised though the folks who have made these reproductions A2000/B2000 motherboard (the non-EATX) haven't made the power circuit/connect like the EATX board has; where you can plug an ATX power supply into the mainboard instead of having to use a convertor.
