Hey peeps!

I thought I'd share with you some pics of my Japanese Sega Saturn Collection. + a few PAL Games ;)

I got the Jap Saturns from Ami-Junkie on these boards (thanks mate)

The White one is chipped so plays backups, I have a pretty decent collection of originals now though and a pretty awesome Fight Stick for Street fighter II action! Yeah I've been kickin' some ass on Street Fighter Alpha III (backup copy) :(

Anyway, I thought I'd share these as they're my favorite consoles in my collection right now, closely followed by my PC Engine/Core Grafx, also from Ami-Junkie! :ninja:

Nice collection Steve, sadly i've never had the pleasure of playing on a Saturn.
I was given one by a family member once but the first time i plugged it in it lit up then switched off and never came back on :(

Thanks & sorry to hear of your bad luck with the Saturn, they are seriously underrated as a system, by far one of the best for 2D shooters and fighters.

The 3D games are lacking but the Arcade classics are, erm, classic

The Saturn is a must have for any retr0 gamer :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Lovely white Jap Saturn there Steve!
Great looking arcade sticks also.

Thanks mate, these really are my pride & joy! You'll have to come over for a gaming session some time

Not long got hold of a Saturn myself. Going to region free it up and then find a space for it on my shelf.
Cracking collection there, as always, Steve. :D

White Saturn. True connisuers choice of a retro tastic gaming sytem.

The 3D doesn't hold up well on these, much like the PSX, but the 2D games rock

Though, me thinks next meetup, bring Virtua Fighter 2 along. I might be able to land a hit in that game

Nice Saturn collection :)

I think I prefer the white casing to the standard black that the UK machines had

A model 1 and a model 2 for ultimate compatibility

Looks very nice in white (pearl?), but I prefer the Derby edition :p

Some good games among those!

Thanks for the kind words guys, indeed I'm really pleased with this setup.

I just wish I had a proper games room to display all my retro gear and have them permantly setup ready to use and all the games shelved/presented.

Sadly right now most of my games are in boxes like my large CD32/Amiga Disk collections :(

Maybe we'll have to move to a bigger house to accomodate my hobbies! :D

I think that sounds like a very sensible thing to do. I'm sure the missus will see it the same way!

Space is always a problem with a hobby like ours - I envy our friends in the US and Australia where basements seem to be the obvious area for "Retro Caves" I guess not everyone has a basement but on the whole property seems to be a lot larger compared to the UK so space isn't such an issue for some.

I'm thinking of building a small unit out of MDF to house about 5 consoles - in the style of the old Hi-Fi cabinets with an area at the rear for cable management - MDF is great to work with and painted up looks really good. It would only need to be as wide as your biggest console, an original XBOX for example. You do have to locate it pretty close to your TV's and Monitors though.

I built a little version a while back - here is a quick picture... spot my Saturn hiding to the left...

Duke Nukem on Saturn was pretty nice, and graphically better than the PS1 version IMO (One of the few that were done right).

I love the Saturn, just managed to get Sega Ages back for mine and a Scart, along with some other bits for my Dreamcast. Finally got MSR :D

Thats it now until September, just about have the cash to get food

Nice collection Steve! As much as I love the white one, I really like the other one you have which I believe is a standard Jap console. Ryo has one in his house in Shenmue, I think that may be why

Really? I have to get a hold of that!

Nice Saturns there, Steve!

Back then, the Saturn went pretty much unnoticed for me. I was aware of the Dreamcast when it was announced, although I've seen it live only once. I've read about both consoles and how they were the underdogs in the console wars, undeservingly.
