Hey all, I know its been a while since I posted here, but I met a few of you fine people a few years back in Blackpool, at a retro event :)

I thought you might be interested in my game I have been developing for about 18 months, its called Xenosis: Alien Infection and its based on a love of one of my all time favorite Amiga games, Alien Breed. I just dont think there are enough top down games these days, although having worked on one for so long now, its easy to see why, they arent the easiest in the world to make, but I have tried to make a 2D game have real 3D depth with the use of lighting & shadow, and I think it worked really well!

It's not staying to the Alien Breed formula though, which of course was just a simple wander around, shoot stuff, collect keys and get to the next level... This has been described by someone else as Alien Breed meets System Shock, with a bit of dead space thrown in the mix, and to be honest that is a pretty good description! The game is primarily a survival exploration game, with a hugely deep story and lore, action and stealth along with crafting and a huge ship to explore :)

For me, its all about immersion, so that is what I am aiming for here. I would also be really interested in getting a few people onboard who would be interested in beta testing, but its a big game so commitment would be needed :)

If anyone is interested you can check out the game here on Fig This is a private link, because it only went live today and we are not yet showing the general public, but please feel free to share anywhere :)
Xenosis is coming to Steam (PC, Mac & Linux), Xbox One, PS4 and Switch, early 2019 if all goes according to plan.

I'm currently hard at work updating the AI, as its a pretty complex system that incorporates hunting and group behaviours, along with simulating senses which makes for a really interesting experience.

I also love talking game design, development and techy stuff, so if anyone wants to chat more that would be awesome :D

Looks neat!
I bet I could spend a few hours trodding around a huge spaceship blasting aliens and looking for clues. ;)

Hey all, thanks for the kind words :)

Yeah I'm super proud of the game, and the atmosphere is something that everyone who plays it comments on, but theres a lot of work to do yet! :)
