Hi all,

Well as the title suggests, Im posting about my newly acquired PPC/Bvision kit I bought right here on Amibay. There are 2 reasons Im making this post; 1) Because its always good to post pics of new gear I think and 2) Because although it is normal protocol to leave feedback on a Sale thread, I felt this sale deserved a little bit more than that in respect of the seller; that is resident Amibayer fitzsteve.

Before I get started I will say that Steve hasnt asked me to post or do anything extra in relation to this sale, nor does he know Im writing this until he actually reads it.

So the sale itself was for a Blizzard PPC, Bvision graphics board and the A1200 he had it all attached to.

I got up rather early today to make sure I didnt miss any deliveries and got rather excited waiting

First came the A1200. Its been recapped recently and had a couple of small mods to accommodate the PPC gear, and also came with a PSU capabale of powering it all :

As well as that, there is a stack of other bits such as cables, cf cards, ram sticks, mouse and the other bits you can see here :

Next up the PPC/Bvision box itself arrived. Despite being rather excited when the postie arrived, when I opened the door my heart just sank when i saw this on top of the pile of goodies he arrived with :

Royal Mail strike again then :picard

Thankfully after pondering how much pain I could inflict on the poor guy, and checking everything he was delivering, we reliased that the damage notice was in fact relating to something else, which was a small bag of specialist screws I had imported from china. There was actually no damage at all, it turns out the bag had been opened (presumably at customs or in the Royal Mail chain), and the inner plastic bag holding the screws had split. They were all there though (I made him count all 50 of them which I had ordered!), so everything was in order as it turned out :)

My excitement then returned to the PPC and Bvision which you can see here :

Its in ace condition, very nice indeed :p

This setup really is going to be my pride and joy once it is all assembled.

So, onto fitzsteve, the seller.

I wanted to publicly acknowledge my appreciation for his time and effort over the whole transaction. Ive traded with steve several times in the past and hes always been very helpful and accommodating; something I noticed in the various forum threads too.

I had already asked several questions regarding the setup before I paid and each time got back a very long and detailed reply, fully explaining everything I had asked.

The packaging of all the bits and pieces was done really well and I would have been surprised if Royal Mail had managed to cause any damage. I know there is always some degree of risk with such old and delicate gear, but fair play, it was wrapped and packaged so well there was no chance of that here.

I was also sent all the necessary tracking information and even pictures of the packages once they were ready to go.

Once the sale was complete, I then received several further quite detailed messages regarding the setup of it all and the information I will need when assembling it.

Overall Steve has been quite the gentleman and for me, and has gone over and above what I would have expected throughout. A thoroughly friendly and helpful guy, and an absolute pleasure to deal with!

Its all gone very smoothly indeed thanks to his time and effort; definitely the kind of seller I would recommend.

Ive posted this here as despite having several sections where you can post rants and raves, there is nowhere to post about your more positive experiences.

Thanks for sharing the pics and thanks for the kind words, I'm really humbled :)

I hope you enjoy this great setup, I will miss not having a PPC Desktop setup but I still have my GREX 1200 setup so I'm not PPC less!

For me having everything inside a Desktop wedge was always special, mostly because once you close the lid, apart from the extra noise of the fan you wouldn't know anything special was there! To the untrained eye it's just another A1200!

I'm glad you've had a positive experience and if you need any further advice or anything at all my PM box is always open

One thing I forgot to say!

Don't use a screwdriver on the small screws between the PPC & BVision, just do them finger tight - Do not over tighten :coffee:

Oh and have fun!

Well Ive taken the decision not to assemble her just yet, Im going to wait until my upcoming holiday time so i can take a day to myself to familiarise myself with everything and take my time over the assembly.
