Used this in an old PC but never really got on with it because it didn't do what I thought it would. 50-in SCSI as you can see from the picture.

Basically it will swallow a number of CDs and present them to the system as different drives. So you can swap between the CDs in Windows and it will clunk about for a few seconds and then give you access to the one you have selected. At least that's how I remember it - I didn't use it for long as what I had hoped for was something you could insert a few CDs into and then switch between them with all CDs presented as the same drive. I don't know whether there is some way of getting it to do that, and it doesn't matter to me me now anyway.

Slot loading, rather than tray or cartridge.

Looking for £10 plus P&P, UK preferred, payment by paypal gift. Postage will be by Royal Mail First class or Standard Parcels, from my local post office.

Im quite certain postage cost to Oz would be prohibitive, but just in case. Interested, pending postage cost.

PM sent.

Surface mail is of course cheapest - roughly doubles the cost - but can take forever, airmail costs nearly twice that. PM sent.

Still nothing after 2 pm's, I thought it was only surface mail that took a long to get from the uk to australia , 9 days now....

Hey there. Sorry for not responding to your PMs, but I have a good reason - my account was frozen as a consequence of a disagreement with a mod! :)

Actually, I would have thought that a mod would have posted this fact in the thread, oh well.

Because of the hold up I am happy to give first option to jvdbossc. If he is not interested then I will take it.

Jvdbossc, step up.

 Er-hmmm.... not heard anything on this and then I forgot about it  so I still have the item gathering dust...

Ok jvdbossc says he's no longer interested, though his response ["I thought you did not wan t to do bussiness with me or Abrax"] suggests I did not follow the forum etiquette somehow [hey I'm new here:lol:], so my apologies to all concerned. I thought abraxxious's last post on the thread meant that I was waiting for jvdbossc's response but I think my consequent lack of action was interpreted as disinterest in selling the item, and his non-response was interpreted similarly by me. Never mind, no big deal.

Now PM'ed abraXXious to see if he wants it still as I'm thinking this puts him first in line and SkydivinGirl second.

No problem mate, there are just many reasons why you might not wanted to proceed with us... Like shipping abroad etc.. No harm done.. Like I said through PM I bought a dvd rom player instead by now.. Thanks and good luch with the sale:thumbsup:

Postage to USA or Australia is going to be something like:

£18 airmail
£23 international signed-for
£11 surface mail
£16 international signed-for surface mail

Thanks for the shipping prices. :) If Abraxxious does not want it then I will definitely buy it.

Take care,

Heather

abraXXious has declined so SkydivinGirl it's yours. Let me know how you want to proceed. PM sent.

Payment received, item posted by surface mail this morning, many thanks.

I am sure you are already aware but please note that [in my experience...all of 4 parcels....] surface mail between the US and UK can take 6 to 8 weeks. Only mentioning because the times I was on the waiting end I ended up lodging a complaint with Paypal after 6-7 weeks only to find the items arrived a week or two later. And when I sent things across to the US, the buyers got equally tetchy . No idea if it's still like that but I saw somewhere that delays might be longer now with extra checks etc.

Hope it arrives safely in the end. :)

Item arrived yesterday! The drive looks like it is in good condition but I won't be able to test until this evening. Will leave feedback and close this thread after I test.

Thanks ratfink!

Heather
