Hi all,

I've upgraded the hard drive of my original Xbox from the stock 10GB to a 250GB.. Nice! So, of course I downloaded CoinOps 6 and FTP'd it over to the Xbox and it runs great. Loads of arcade action going on

The Coinops I downloaded is CoinOps 6 Lite. I've heard (cannot confirm yet) from a forum that the "Lite" version has missing cores. Don't know if this is correct. But the downloaded Coinops 6 Lite I have copied has loads of arcade games, some SNES, some Megadrive, some C64 etc..

My issue is: I downloaded a Lynx Pack for CoinOps 6 (I own all the original media of course ) and all the ROMS are correctly formatted i.e LYNX_Gamename.zip and I copied them over to the correct path Romsconsles. But after doing the Scan Games option they do not show up even though the download is good.

I've come to the conclusion that what I heard about the cores being missing may be true. This is a bummer as it took me ages to download, copy and then rescan roms etc.. more than once.

I also tried to copy over all my ADF's but I ran into an issue because the file names are over 40 something characters. There is NO WAY I am renaming each and every file. So I need help in getting round that issue. Batch renaming may not be an option. How can you batch rename files like "Lotus III The Ultimate Challange (Gremlin) 1992 Disk 1 of 2.adf" etc.. etc... ?

Downloading CoinOps 7 Massive is another option, I'll have everything out of the box, but a 60ish GIG download ?? WOW!

NNTP is your friend with (77gb inc par files)

I use "Bulk Rename Utility" http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Main_Intro.php you can add / remove (search for and replace) very handy, a bit hard for the beginner but once you have mastered it you can correctly rename files.

I had this same issue. It seems the Light and Massive releases do not like you adding additional ROMS even for the supported and included engines.

The solution I found was to install Coinops 7 massive, and once installed copy CoinOps 7 standalone over the top on the Xbox.

Now when adding roms and rescanning everything turns up and works perfectly.

I installed CoinOps 7 Massive. Approx 65Gb packed in 88 RAR files. I will try adding ADF's and ROMS and if it doesnt work ill copy stand alone over it . Is there a chance I could "break it" by copying standalone over Massive ?

No, that is exactly what I had to do to make it work. So far 4 installs down and that method has worked on all of them.
