Need some advice please.

Hi I am new to the Amiga and have a load of questions. I have tried searching for most of the answers but i seem more confused.

So i am wondering if you guys might be able to help.

I have a A1200 ( thanks Blankstare) and a 600 (Thanks Ami junki.).

I would like to mod the A1200 but like I said im totally confused.

So here goes hope someone can answer these questions

1. Can I add more games to my CF hard drive from WHDLoad?

2. What accelerator card would I need to run games from WHDLoad as only a few work at the moment.

3. What would I need to run OS3.5, 3.1 Kickstart roms?

4. I would like to add a CDROM, what would I need?

5. I would like to connect the A1200 to a decent PC Monitor or LCD Tv.

2. What accelerator card would I need to run games from WHDLoad as only a few work at the moment. i'd recommend an 030 based card with at least 8mb ram if it's just for gaming

3. What would I need to run OS3.5, 3.1 Kickstart roms? the 030 card and 3.1 roms will be fine and dandy

4. I would like to add a CDROM, what would I need? choices here, an external scsi cd rom drive, an ide cable hanging out the back to an ide drive or a slimline laptop drive connected internally with an ide splitter, oh and idefix is nice

5. I would like to connect the A1200 to a decent PC Monitor or LCD Tv. ok so either a scan doubler/flicker fixer or an indivision is probably easiest or you could use a £20 tv/vga box from ebay depending on how good an image you need

Yes.
The easiest way is to get a PCMCIA-CF adapter and a CF card.
Copy the zip from your PC to the CF card and then use the PCMCIA-CF adapter on the Amiga to copy it over and unzip it there.

2. What accelerator card would I need to run games from WHDLoad as only a few work at the moment.

Almost any will work for that. You can check out the new accelerators from Individual Computers, as they are quite popular now. Although all you really need for WHDLOAD games (if that's all you want to do) is a RAM expansion...

3. What would I need to run OS3.5, 3.1 Kickstart roms?

As I understand it, yes. 3.1 ROMs and the 3.5 media. I don't run 3.5 tho..

4. I would like to add a CDROM, what would I need?

Either a PCMCIA SCSI adapter (like the Surf Squirrel) or an IDE interface (like Amigakit's IDEFix interface or some of the others) and an IDE CDRom and some updated software (IDEFix or I believe there is a patched scsi.device that might work.. OR 3.5 I believe has CDRom support software already)

5. I would like to connect the A1200 to a decent PC Monitor or LCD Tv.

You can get an adapter to do JUST VGA, but you can't see native Amiga modes that way.
If you're in the UK, I'd seriously consider an Amiga-SCART cable.
Otherwise Individual Computer's Indivision is a very good scan doubler/flicker fixer. (Again, I don't have either, so.. )

the internal ide powers it(miss read)
the cdrom could be powerd from the floppy power with an adapter power cable

you can yes with the right software they are in lha also

no questions are bad, all questions rock!!

personally i would set up a winuae to match my real amiga perfectly and install stuff in the winuae set up, when happy with it move the cf card over to the miggy
