Just saw that the Neo Geo X Gold will be released worldwide in time for Christmas.

That's my Christmas present sorted out then!

Is that a cartridge slot on the docking station? Is that arcade controller included in the $200 price?

Yeah - the dock takes the handheld and allows it to be plugged into an HD TV and yeah the arcade controller comes with it!

I think most games will be available in some way or other via PSP but this is bespoke SNK equipment and quite novel I think.

Having thought about it a little bit... why would people want to get that instead of a real neo geo? And if a handheld is preferred, why not take a cheaper real neo geo pocket?

You can add many, many games from other ebay sellers before you reach $200 and I think it would be much better collector value.

I like it, I think the docking station with HDTV out is a great idea and a nice styling for the original NeoGeo!

would of been nice if they had a download market for the hand-held as well.

Neo Geo Pocket != a portable Neo Geo. It's completely different.

Yeah I guess I posted that idea without informing myself enough about it first. Still, if this device wants to succeed, it has to price itself down well below 3ds and current generation of big consoles.

I think that is really cool - and I like the idea of it being a hand held which has a dock to connect it to the TV, and I also really like the classic arcade joystick. Nice bundle of stuff

Hopefully the retail price will be ok, and it will come loaded to the rafters with games

3ds is mass market. this is niche market. not easy to do cheap in niche. 200 is already a great deal, although i'm going for the real deal when i cave in
