You can read up about the development of this new browser port on this EAB thread -> Amiga Browser

Basically (Arti) the guy that has been working on the (SDL based) 68k RTG ports of NetSurf asked if he could use my new AGA SDL to see it would enable him to get NetSurf working for AGA users.

Currently it is slow and requires a powerful AGA machine. It looks to me that the performance issues are from generating the image rather than actually displaying it (eg AGA is not the reason it is slow!).

There is the possibility that Arti might be able to improve the speed and fix the issues with the colors etc, all questions/thanks/encouragement/donations should be sent directly to Arti -> http://ami-soft.blogspot.com.au/

I don't know about you guys but I think it's pretty cool that classics will finally get a new web browser after all these years :)

Excellent news, cant wait to give it a proper go.
I love seeing new stuff like this as well as games come out.

Now if someone could do an updated rdp client that would be great!

Sent from my HTC One X.

That's awesome Nova mate! Not that i'm into browsing on my Amiga, but it looks damn good for a Classic AGA!

I use netsurf on my emulated amiga and its pretty good :) At least it displays a lot of websites that classic browsers just sadly can't.

I have a bit of a wishlist for Amiga OS3.9 which would see me use it a lot more, which includes a skype client and a facebook chat client.

I must admit that I don't browse on my own A1200, but it's cool that you will be able to if that's your thing, and it's something people have been asking about for years.

facebook chat already exists with jabber.

That's absolutely superb! For me, seeing new developments is the most interesting part of the scene.

Thanks for posting news about this - awesome

Awesome. Simply awesome. Now I just need to sort out networking for my 4000, and I'll be giving it a good tryout :)

Arti just released a new BETA over on EAB, looking much better already

That is absolutely superb given the age of the hardware pushing it along - it is still staggering watching what people can get Amiga's to do soo long after they stopped producing them - awesome
