Hi all,

I love retro computers and the opportunity to buy a retro game that is boxed and brand new (outside of auction sites and second hand) is a new experience for me. If you like the Atari 2600 this game may be for you.

NOTE:I am not making a sales pitch - the reason I am telling you about this game is i intend to review it when it is released and I am a fan of the podcast that has produced this game.

The game is called 'RetroGaming Roundup presents: CGE Adventures'. As mentioned it will be for the Atari 2600. The game will be boxed with Feelies just like good old games such as Zork and the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. This is exciting for me because i only see Feelies, such as maps, included with games like Skyrim on the PlayStation 3.

The story of the game follows an event at CGE (a Retro Revival style games convention) over in Las Vegas. (Or New Vegas if you like me and eat, sleep and breath Bethesda). Whilst at this convention the hosts of the RetroGaming Roundup show (RGR) had placed a pile of promo CD's on the end of their table and it was soon apparent that an attendee of that convention had swiped the whole bunch of CDs...'Why would that make a good game you ask...' Well the culprit is apparently deaf... So for some years now the RGR show has been re-telling this infamous story to it's listeners. So when the opportunity for a game to be made was presented to them, the hosts decided this would make a good back story for their game. (This is my personal interpretation of how the game came about from listening to the podcast catalog but I'm sure I'm about right lol)

The game will be on pre-order here on April 1st (USA TIME NOT GMT) and the first 60 pre-orders will come with a limited signed CD. Thereafter I imagine you can get your self one of the copies of the games until stocks last. You might also be interested to know that the RetroGaming Roundup show will be the exhibiting at the retro revival show in Wolverhampton this year and if you're attending you can play a demo of this game, (I will be attending to play this title for sure!).

Well my rant is over, i hope this will be as interesting to others as it is for me. Below are links for further reading.
