Hi Everyone,
Please let me introduce myself. My name is Dan, I'm 36 and I live in Wellington, New Zealand.
I have been Commodore fan for a number of years since I owned my first Commodore 64 in 1987.
Having grownup on the 64, it was the best computer.
I remember all the other kids at school flocking in there little groups to swap software titles.
The Atari Crowd, The Spectrum Kids and then you had us, The 64'ers lol.
I was pretty popular back then because I was the only one at school in Motueka (a small rural town in the Golden Bay) that had a 5.1/4 inch floppy drive.
Everyone else had the tape drive lol.
However, I remember when I first saw my uncles Amiga 1000 in action.
It blew my mind, this would of been around 1989.
No need to enter LOAD"*",8,1 lol God I can't believe I still remember that command.
Automatic loading, All In One design, and the fact the thing could talk amazed me and this was 1989!
But there were two things that really stood out to me that it was the future of computing.
The Graphics and Sound Quality.
It was years ahead of its time.
The Super Nintendo & Sega Mega Drive were great machines but nothing comes close to the sound quality of the 500 for a 16Bit Machine.
After nagging my Mum and Dad for months I finally got my own Amiga. The 500.
I still have a complete Amiga 500 system to this day and it is my most favourite of them all.
Even though I own an CD32. The 500 my most prestigious machine. Complete with 1MB Ram lol.
Anyways, I look forward to meeting you all and I would also like to thank the moderators for letting me be part of the forum.
Cheers guys and gals
