I finally found an Amiga 1000 on Ebay that was within my budget, and yet was not a total basket case! Join me on this short series where I take this machine from a worn down, slightly sad specimen, to a shining example of its kind. We kick off with the un-boxing and test to see if it survived a weeks long journey from Canada.

Thats, odd, if you Subscribe AND hit the bell as well (AFAIK) then you should get notifications on new released. Mind you, I guess there is a window for these to hit you? Maybe if you are offline OR if you have a LOT of subs, Youtube is picky about what notifications you get. Not sure...

Not just your channel that’s happened to. Like you say, it could be picky. I do check YouTube and the videos I haven’t seen yet do appear in my list

It might be quite nice if Youtube did a Subscriptions dashboard. All subs displayed in a grid, with a number next to each, showing new videos, and subs with newer released bubble to the top left of this list. Otherwise its just a stream of consciousness, as it is now, and we tend to miss new vids.

Great series! I stumbled upon these while searching for Amiga 1000 content. I also found an Amiga 1000, a bit closer to me fortunately but it is pretty yellowed.

Yellowed, is it the case, keyboard, or both? Mine, the case was hardly yellowed at all really, but the keyboard was full banana, or rather, slipping into mango territory.

Yes, great machine. I have a video planned for this series coming pretty soon. I have been struggling to get a Fastlane Z3 card (SCSI) to work, for a series on BlueSCSIv2 usage. I may take a break from that struggle as its frying my egg. And take a look at this, should be a little less of a struggle.

Both. The keyboard is banana yellowed and the case is yellowed too. The previous owner was a smoker so it came with a tad of nicotine too

I got a Rejuvenator installed, bought here, with 2Mb chipram and KS 1.3 and it's running great. I'm now patiently waiting on a Parceiro 2.
