Well hello to one and all.

We have a new section on our beloved Amibay. The “Reviews” area, which lives inside the AmiOracle area.

So, what is this all about then? well the purpose of this is for Amibay members to post reviews of the kit they have had their sticky hands on, whether it be a complete system, a piece of hardware or even software.

Everyone is welcome to add a review the only real conditions are that the review must be relevant to the site (no i7 laptop reviews for example, although maybe you could do an i7 review in about 20 years or so. J). No price to be listed, and remember to post both posative and negative points.

What we hope happens with these reviews is that they could help other members get an insight into a piece of retro equipment that they may be considering, or to maybe inspire someone to look at something they have never considered.

And with that ladies and gentlemen we look forward to seeing your reviews come flooding in

Looking forward to more reading material!

I understand not being able to review every single piece of hardware, ie new stuff. But can we review games new and old? Sometimes it is nice if someone buys a new game and does a little review about it etc, console and PC? No versus stuff but about the actual games. If a console review is done then no need for a PC review etc etc. You would also have had to actually complete the entire game, maybe a couple of screenshots.

How about a split, old/new sub groups?

hmmm these are all valid points/suggestions

but i think new things should stay in the general chat area, i would like to keep the review area as a place peeps can come and read about kit they may like to get or to find out some user expirience with a certain system or piece of hardware.

how about we see how the section goes to begin with and maybe we can update and expand it at a later date, what do you think?

To seperate hardware from software is a good idea methinks.

I think it would be nice to review new/old software. We are pretty much all gamers here so reviewing games should fit in tbh. But w/e I aint in charge

That's an awesome idea. I look forward to reading some great reviews. I am going to start on my review of the wife after I post this message.

Just don't let her know :shhh:

The “Reviews” area is something I missed, but I do like the idea. I hope C64 software is welcomed as well.. Though it might be a bit strange, since software has evolved by now so it could turn out alway's negative reviews...

And I am not a gamer - I have battlefield 3 and that is the only one I've got and wan't for now... I remember mostly C64 and amiga for games when younger... (much) I like the technical and creative stuff much more.. Amiga had premier on video editing, bryce 3D (rendering), drawing stuff.. etc..etc..etc..

any review is welcome m8y, c64, amiga, sega, nintendo, panasonic, atari, anything.

as long as it is fair and not fanboi or anti-fanboi, it just needs to be fair and honest:thumbsup:

Count me in, there are two or three new titles for C64... (not saying wich..) I hate stolen ideas..
