I wish I could but I don't remember most of the programming I did on the 8-Bit systems. Plus, most of my programming on the C64/C128 involved writing crack intros or cracking copy protection schemes.

What are you attempting to do?

I've actually been tempted to have a crack at writing a terminal program for the 128. I know they already exist, but it'd be just for sh*ts & giggles as they say. Like Heather, I'd ask: what are you looking to do?

Personally, my "special" feature would be to transfer & save .D64/.D71/.D81 files directly. And have proper full VT100 emulation, of course. Connect to Linux box, type "SendMyFile CoolGame.D64" and have the drive write blocks.

I think it would be great if we had a desterm style terminal for ethernet.

Well Heather I'm just trying to drum up some interest in a terminal prg
for the 128 using Nic64+ were you have all the feature's one from the
old days mainly NovaTerm and DesTerm calling from a address book
would really be nice..

Ahh! I see. :) For terminal and BBS type stuff, I use a RS-232 adapter along with a Lantronix MSS-100 device attached to my C128. It acts like a standard modem so it supports all terminal software. Of course, it is limited in speed based on the RS-232 adapter speed.

A version of good terminal software for the 64NIC+ would be great though!

I don't have a 128 ( :( yet..) but this site lists several, including DESTERM..
(I'm assuming (I know) it's 128 specific as it's in the c128 folder..)

I also assume there are some decent CP/M ones?

I never really used CP/M, which is a shame because it really is a great OS. I used the C128 terminal programs a lot in the late 80's/90's because of the 80 Column mode. It was a great machine for Bulletin Board Systems. :)

Please let us know if you find anything that will work well with the 64NIC+.
