Hi Folks!

I'm looking for a nice Graphics Card for my MediaCentre, GF8800 or better, but the slim/quiet versions for my MediaCentre. If you have anything sitting unused that might be of use hit me up with a price!

Must be PCI-E 16x 512mb+

Even a 9600GT would be ok for example, and should fit in my case.

Cheers,

Steve.

I have a boxed ATI HD2600XT 512MB GDDR3 if thats suitable? Not an Nvidia but should be up to the job.

Performance level is just behind a the 8600GT / 9600GT cards.

Its a small card and doesnt require any extra power besides what the PCI-E slot gives it. (see pic).

Asking £30 Including postage if you want it

Hey,

Thanks for that, it looks like it would fit.

I'll have a think about itm I've always had NVidia and tend to be a creature of Habbit

Cheers.

Steve.

will you be running blu-ray from your media centre?

No, I do that on the PS3. I do run X264 HD playback though and it was a little slow with my 7600GT although I've since replaced the 3700+ with a 5200+ X2 so might be better now...

I also use it for emulation like N64/Snes/MD :-)

Oh and WinUAE!

Cheers!

No probs Steve, sorry I dont have any slimline nVidias for you. Been an ATI guy until recently.

Thats just not good enough mate, maybe you can cut the GTX260 in half? :butcher

cool, the blu-ray stuff really needs a 1gb 8600 or equiv minimum, H264 etc aren't quite so resource hungry.

i bought my 8600gt 1gb from t'other bay for £20 m8 so may be worth having a look there?

i actually used my PS3 last night!:blink::o

Cheers mate I got a few in the watch list ;)

And H264, where'd I get that X from lol

Did you play GT5?

no i watched iplayer then tried F1 CE :)

Have you tried F1 2010? Its awesome - I have it on the PeeCee

i gotta be honest m8, i had it on the pc and the 360, it's very, very pretty, but as buggy as hell! fake AI doesn't move the cars not visable on track (randomly generates the results) terrible right angle pit entry/exit, random punture bug (4 punctures in 4 laps) i returned the 360 version and kept the PC one.
IMHumbleO GP4 is a better game (with the 2010 updates) or rfactor.

Yeah its got its Bugs like most games these days, I just don't think enough testing goes into them, maybe recession budget cuts?

I hate the way you get stuck behind your team mate if you pit out of sync or stuck in the pits waiting to pull out as a queue of cars overtake!

Anyway I'd better bring this back on topic lol after I dragged it so far off!

PM sent to Amineo with an offer for the ATI Card.

Graphics Card arrived safe - cheers Amineo! All up and running

Will leave feedback & thread can be closed :)

Feedback left, Let me know how she performs if you ever try blu-ray on her. I'll bet shes up to it ;).
