Hi, can anyone advise what this particular error code relates to in terms of hardware, I can’t find any codes list online that I can look up, the error code shows as board 1/2/3 with the manufacturer shown as 1010, and an error code of 196, I can’t seem to upload any photos of the screenshot I took. Cheers

According to this list: http://wiki.amigaos.net/wiki/Amiga_Hardware_Manufacturer_ID_Registry
Manufacturer 1010 = MicroBotics

What I would do is remove all attached units i.e. RAM / IDE drive / Keyboard, and set the jumpers on the SX-1 board to disable those items where possible.
Just try to start with the bare-minimum on components and see when it fails.

On other thing; try cleaning the connectors which connect to the CD32 with IPA or similair.

Thanks for the registry list, very helpful, it has an old hard drive attached which hasn’t been used in years so that might be the first thing to remove, cheers crazybob

I had a SX1 and the connectors had oxidized and when I pushed it onto the CD32 I got nothing, after trying different things like suggested by Crzybob, still no joy, then I took the sx1 out and checked the pins on the connectors and found that some of the pins had pushed back into the connector through oxidization and not being used for many years, I had to bodge it to work.
You can use a credit card with a folded spectacle cleaning cloth round it dampened with isoprop and push it in and out of the connectors to clean the crap off

Not on an SX1, but I noticed something very similar recently. An A500 I opened had signs of slow oxidation on the back of some of the socket pins and also the trapdoor connector pins.

Im scouting the other bay for replacements.

The connection seems quite good but cleaning the connectors is a definite must, the. Sx1 came with an old hard drive which I’ve removed for the time being and that has removed two of the error codes, the remaining error code is still there and is identical to the other two, I’ll attach a cf card Up to it next week to see if the hard drive was the issue or the connectors are causing problems, it would be nice to know what the specific error code means

A new cf card has been put in but it hasn’t solved the issue and all connectors have been cleaned, by process of elimination the next step will be to replace the ram board next as the error code does seem to pop up more when it’s inserted and when the jumpers have been reset with regards to it. Can anyone supply a suitable link for a replacement, 8mb simm preferably ?
