It happening to me twice already.:blased:
I want to open new dispute (I'm a buyer, deal via ebay), but after selecting transaction number and pressing "proceed" I have following message:

As a result I cannot start new dispute of course...

First time it was 3 weeks ago and I wrote to PayPal webmaster as suggested in error log. So the dispute was opened by PayPal webmaster "by hand".
Now I have exactly the same problem.
Have you noticed similar issue recently?
I'm open to do some test with 1$ value deal just to check it.

Thanks!
Stan

No problems here.

That page is a server error, not that they are stopping you from opening a dispute.

Yes, but this is the same page I saw 3 weeks ago.
I just simply cannot open dispute as pressing "proceed" button give me this error.

Tried it with different browsers?
IE compatibility mode?
etc?

Hi Stachu,

If you made the purchase in Ebay can you start a dispute from there instead?

Hi Stachu,

Sure. But ebay site is re-directing to PayPal site if you want to open a dispute via ebay site....

And yes, tried with 3 different browsers (Chrome, IE8, Opera) and two PC's. The same...

Tried again 1 min ago on IE8 and Chrome - same server error....

What security software are you running? browser plugins, plus firewall, virus scanners, malware scanners, router with firewall, ISP restrictions etc...?

also are you behind a proxy server?

Web Reputation Plugin on Chrome.
And I'm using Avast at home, and Symantec in the office.
I have public IP at home and firewall in the office. There can be IP restrictions in the office (can send money by PayPal though). But internet at home is "clean" - nothing is blocked or restricted.

Having an MTU that is too large can cause connection errors with secure links. Try lowering your MTU value on your PC to something like 1400, reboot and try again :)

Unless you are with AOL. You have to have the exact setting or you get a really allow connection.

Also that setting only applies to some ISPs. Be f.ex. don't connect that way.

....or maybe there's something wrong with your account, which i don't think is the most possible cause but you could always check this out with Paypal. Hope you solve the problem soon, cause the "dispute button" is one of the most useful aspects of using Paypal.

I think its a problem with your ISP or something like this...
PayPal's dispute resolution page works like charm (I used this service just a couple of days ago..)

I've used PayPal disputes in the past as well.
All was working great.
Till now...
Ok, I will call to PayPal support tomorrow to see what is going on.

Thanks All!

Problem solved:
When I was trying to open dispute from ebay -> redirection -> PayPal dispute site - the problem exist.

When I tried to start new dispute after fresh logon to PayPal directly and go to dispute center and opening new dispute - everything works!

PayPal is accepting my new disputes! :-)

Anyway it seems that there is a PayPal server misconfiguration somewhere...
