Now all sold, will have more later in the week.
Extra: I have an extra PCGA-CD51 available, so I'm reopening this thread. Same conditions as the others sold below.
Hi all, I've been selling these drives on eBay for quite a while, but recent changes there made them more expensive to the buyers, because of "buyer protection" fees, plus significant changes on shipping prices. That's even more of a problem to buyers outside of the UK, as using Global Shipping forces you to pay import taxes upfront. That's why I'm offering them here, at a lower price, and with the option to ship with a reduced price, perhaps.
In any case, I'm offering here for sale 4 Sony Vaio PCGA-CD51, all fully tested on my PiStorm equipped Amiga 600, with the test recorded on video so you can be sure the CD drives are able to read a CD-R full of data, beginning to end (650MB). It's important to say that they were tested with a PiStorm because some drives won't work with them (mainly Cardbus drives, some of them working perfectly on non-PiStorm equipped machines).
I'm attaching some photos as proof of ownership here, but you can see photos and videos for each drive, individually on the albums below (hope this is okay).
Each drive comes with two floppies:
- A install floppy containing (free) Directory Opus 4 to help you copy the appropriate driver files to your harddrive. The floppy disk is bootable and is set to mount the PCMCIA CD drive, and you can use it to test or debug any problems during your driver install to your harddrive.
- A "Squirrel PCMCIA CD - CDTV/CD32 Loader", which is a set of scripts - not a CD32 emulator - that will help you boot CDTV/CD32 games on your computer. Note that this is provided just in hopes someone can improve on the boot scripts to help it load games. I was able to load Xenon 2 CDTV successfully, with CDDA audio and all, by going through a step-by-step startup sequence, and skipping a program during boot, then running the Xenon 2 executable file manually.
- A copy of the "Amiga CD Sensations - vol 1 - Demos r Forever" that's available on the Internet Archive just so you can have an Amiga-compliant CD to test out your PCMCIA CD Drive.

Price is 60 GBP (British Pounds) - to be paid Paypal Friends and Family (or you pay the extra taxes).
Shipping to the UK = free
Shipping to Europe = 13 GBP (Insured, Tracked and Signed - Royal Mail)
Shipping to Asia/Americas = 24 GBP (Insured, Tracked and Signed - Royal Mail)
You can save a bit by chosing untracked shipping, but then it's up to you. I can perhaps declare as gift or declare a smaller amount to help you with import taxes... The items are shipped in a plain box, with no Company logos, and shipped under my name, not a company/business, so probably you won't pay VAT (Europe)...
Let me know if you have any questions, cheers!
Edit: S03 sold to @a.mi.goun . Payment received.
Edit: Friends, I've reopened this FOR SALE thread as I have an extra PCGA-CD51 CDROM Drive.
I've updated the listing with a link to photos, plus an updated proof of ownership (and updated date).
Thanks!
