I'm about to acquire a Blizzard 1260 (Phase5 version, angled RAM slot) and came up with the following questions that still concern me a wee bit.

1. Will replacing the RAM slot with a flat revision cause me any trouble?

2. By replacing the RAM slot with a flat version, I'll basically turn that Blizzard 1260 into a DCE, right? There shouldn't be any clearing issues with double-sided SIMMs from there on out, correct?

3. Do all Blizzard 1260s accept 128MB Simms or only the later revisions?

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

All Blizzy's take up to 128mb Ram

If you fit a flat Simm socket you might find some simms don't fit very well as they'll be slightly angled by the 060 chip. Slimline Simms will be fine but most 128mb Simms and some larger double sided simms will need to be held in place with a zip tie or elastic band.

All the best,

Steve.
