Would have loved something like that in the day

Thats pretty awesome, I wonder if they made a prototype. Maybe there is a Scan of that advert somewhere for a better read?

Look for the Amiga Format Annual 1993, I vividly remember seeing this in a mag around Christmas a long long time ago :) Probably still have it somewhere...

All pie in the sky stuff , the specs of it are what the cd32 2 would probably of been. Still beats me why in all the Amiga years commodore never fitted even a tiny amount of fast ram...

The A1200 spec isn't battery friendly and commodore were broke for the last 2 years

Looks about the size of a 3000t that's fell over.

The mag dreamed this up in 93, weeelll after laptops looked like this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PowerBook_100

somehow I don't think it'd do very well.

edit: I've just looked at the mag scans, and to be honest, I'm embarrassed for everyone involved. It manages to be both ugly, unergonomic, incredibly expensive, impractical, and, judging by the internal PSU, heavy.

Cheers guys, I have a stack of AF here, maybe I have that one :)

I knew I kept all these for a reason! I'm sure I'll read them all one day, when I'm in the retirement home

Bah, you edited your post, I liked the last reply better :D

don't show this to Commodore USA, they'll buy unbranded Acer Netbooks for $99 and slap 'Amiga' on them and sell them for $995

Back in the day of commodore 64 and amiga computer magazines I read about every page twice. I vividly recall this idea and of course I wanted it.

The idea was not bad. it was a child of the 90s so the established standard for a portable wasn't set in stone. I think it looked great back then and looks great today. ;)

No, the powerbook had been out for two years. Minus the keyboard location the "laptop" had been established since the late 80s.

You'd seriously put up with a laptop where two thirds of the width were a CD lid and it weighed 20lb?
