I just got a 4000D! It has minor battery damage, and significant capacitor leakage, so I’m not powering it up until my capacitors arrive, and the cleanup is complete!

It’s arrival has prompted me to clean up my 3000, 2000, and 1200’s, and this is a CHORE!
I just spent a ton getting some surface mount tools to handle the tiny parts in the 4000.
I’m negotiating for some multisync monitors so I can have them all running simultaneously.

Pretty much skipped September for thrift shopping, had to replace my countertop dishwasher (been doing dishes by hand for the past few months, but with a touch of arthritis in my shoulders and hands, it was becoming too difficult to grip the wet dishes), so that was $367 shipped...

Did manage to grab a few bits and pieces from Runerider a few weeks back, and they'd held a swap meet down by the riverfront here and picked up a couple of items there.

but I went and did the usual run around to the thrift shops, second hand stores and dollar stores on Friday and Monday. anyway.

i really like it, but you have to configure it properly, otherwise it would look bad (obviously)

Finally got bed levelling sensor, new mobo and lcd for my 3d printer and was able to print this awesome 1200 trapdoor: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3400959.

Not perfect but getting there!

Are these generic to all Ender's or are there specific ones

Do you have a link?

I believe the one I got works for most Ender 3 printers and others models (series 5 and 10) as well, I have an Ender 3 Pro.
You can choose one of these sensors:

CR touch
or
BL touch

You will need to check your printer mobo though and ensure that it supports auto levelling, otherwise you'll need to change that as well.
Same goes for the Touch screen, you can install it on a standard Ender 3 mobo, but touch won't work.
My mobo was V1.1.4 and did not support auto levelling or touch screen, so I went for this one BigTreeTech SKR Mini E3 V3.0 and decided to add the BTT TFT35-E3 V3.0 Display Touch Screen as well.

You can find all the stuff on Amazon but recently prices went up so except for the touch sensor on Amazon, I got the rest straight from BTT in China, it was cheaper and in 9 days everything was at my doorstep.
You can check both sites, sometimes they also have good offers on SKR mobo V2 (not much difference from V3) + touch screen.

My 2 cents: These upgrades (and the glass bed which I also replaced) make a big difference, but 3d printing remains a giant pain in the hobby for the very patient who enjoy tinkering (don't we all retro-enthusiasts do? :ROFLMAO:)

Cheers!

I got Alien Breed 92 this week. Team 17 hold a special place in my heart not just for the games but also they were based in Wakefield where I lived at the time.

Any tips on removing old sellotape?

Thrift and Dollar store stuff again, a fairly good load this time. a few new items as well, a HeroQuest expansion and some gaming stuff from Dollarama.
plus a couple of things from a small run a couple weeks ago.

An early Christmas present to myself - the Droix CK1 Mini PC (Windows 11)

The CK1 Mini PC (version NVISEN Y-MU01) features the Intel Whiskey Lake i7 processor, with the Intel UHD Graphics 620 for fast up to 4K processing.

The Intel Core i7 8565U runs up to 4.6GHz and comes with 32GB of fast DDR4 RAM and a high performance 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD.

The Mini computer case is made from Aluminum Alloy measuring 12.8x12.8x3.8 cm. Located inside is a built-in fan and space to connect a SATA III SSD or HDD to further expand the storage. On the sides, there is both an HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort each supporting up to 4K 60Hz. They can also be used together for dual 4K monitor displays..

There is one USB Type-C and four USB 3.0 ports for high-speed data transfer as well as two USB 2.0 ports. The RJ45 Ethernet port supports up to 1Gb/s for high reliability and the fastest transfer speed. A Dual band WIFI 2.4G/5.0G and BlueTooth 4.2 completes the Wireless connectivity.

The Mini Windows PC runs Windows 11 and can be used just like a normal desktop PC or laptop.

Sorry for hijacking your question. I don't think I have ever come across anything that would bankrupt me, not that I would buy anything that would leave me flat broke anyway, but what about you Tim? :D

I haven't found anything life changing and I feel my obsession with the Commodore Amiga is not good for me and could potentially bankrupt me 🤣 and I'll have to sell it all ( oh that thought was scary)

I have my treasures in my eyes like the SX32 Pro and A4000T (Shame it's not an original commodore release 😆) also my @hese designed & built A4000 Alice motherboard and this is a replica but it's one of my prized possessions.

SimCity for PC (box & Documents only, but I have a 5 1/4" disk somewhere)

why 14 copies of Downforce...? well, they were super cheap at the 'dollar' store compared (12.8%) to their 'normal' price, they were the 'Target' versions, which we normally don't get anymore, since Target came and went here in Canada...

I'll keep a couple, gift a few, and trade the rest.
