So during this week my PPC card started playing up , no display , no menu and no booting from HDD.

after spending hours changing the power pack , reseating ram , cleaning connections i gave up and reached for my flash upgrade floppy disk.

I held down S to disable SCSI and turned on the amiga and waited for the floppy to boot in to a workbench screen.

i clicked on the BPPC060upgrade icon and away it went BUT ....very slowly , usually it take 10 or 15 seconds this took minutes.....

and then it rebooted to a blank screen , no boot no logo - a flickering screen.

And the PPC card would not boot the Amiga.

i have spent hours trying to get it to boot but no nothing , well today i thought i wonder if the ACA500 would boot and allow an upgrade?

well yes and no ... the A500+ booted in the ACA menu and i can see the 060 card :-) - result!

but when trying to flash i get the ERROR - PPC 603e found , 0mhz no clock speed , SET clock speed or something like that ????

well after searching for hours on the internet and most people saying use the FORCE command , i eventually found this after trail and error.

add this to the icon command when it pops up...... BPPC060upgrade 240 mhz

or what ever speed your card is , 300mhz or 160mhz or what ever , im not sure if i added the space between 240 and mhz.

this then started a slow PPC update on and Amiga A500 ...it takes a good ten mins - be patient.

it will say

UNLOCK FLASH
STAGE A.....
STAGE B....
STAGE C..............
DONE.

and all working in the 1200 again :-)

mike.

Sorry to hear that mate, I had to do a flash on mine once when it stopped booting - was a scary moment.

I never had any problems for 2 years after but if it happens again you might consider getting stachu to do you a new flash and replace the chip.

Its all okay now Steve , just had a day or two with no PPC ....i didnt like that much.

if it does it again i may unsolder the AMD tsop or ask stan to swap the PPC ....

dont know what to suggest.

either dead 603 or flash problem.

EDIT: so you got it working again?
