Hi fellow Amibay users. It's a sad sad day. I've decided to swap retro-gaming for a women :)

In fact we've bought a house together. It's quite a bit smaller than my place as it is in the centre of Oxford and so (1) I've got to pay for it and (2) There is no room for my collection. Time is short as we aim to move about the end of January.

The problem is I can't sell most of my collection in it's current state because everything has been "taken apart" for modding, never finished and put back in a box in bits. I've got two of almost everything ever sold in the UK since 1986.

So, here is my Pre-New years resolution. There roughly 4 weeks until new year. I'm going to try to prepare two systems every week until then and run a thread where I'll post pictures of putting everything back together.. testing and hopefully putting them back in their boxes ready for sale.

So hmmm... what first? An A600, CD32, A500+, A4000D, Spectrum +3, Amstrad CPC6128+, Acorn Electron, N64, Sega Saturn, maybe an Arcade machine? Jebus and those are just the boxes I can see in front of me.

Stay tuned if you're curious to see what happens.

If you are interested in selling some of the stuff in it's current state, then I'd be interested (Amstrad 6128+, Spectrum +3, Electron). It will also give you more time to concentrate on the others :)

Bryce.

Downgrading, eh?

(I got both, retro gaming and an angry woman for me spending time with old machines)

Congrats on the new place and missus

I look forward to following your threads :)

@Thread remember no fishing for Alexh's items - bidding for items not for sale or silent bidding is strictly against the rules here. :readit:

You must be running on a different calendar to me then :)
Integer division error. 50/7 = 7 weeks

Yes this is not a "for sale thread" it's just going to be me restoring some of my classics in preparation for sale. If there was something that you particularly wanted to see me restoring then just post and I'll prioritise. When they are restored, (if I've not got too attached to them during the restoration) I'll open individual for sale threads.

Sorry, I didn't realise that was fishing. It was more of an open offer so that he could dedicate more time to the Amigas.

I'll be watching the thread too, should be interesting.

Bryce.

All the best with the new house and woman, look forward to seeing what your selling

Wait till you've been married a few years that collection will start to build back up :D

I hope you'll have space for laptop/pc for some emulation and stick around on the site's, I sure I read somewhere that someone said your a knowledgeable guy :p

All the best

Just remember. Love is fleeting... Retro is forever...

Just joking. :) Congratulations on moving into a new stage in your life. Everything changes and it's wonderful when it changes for the better.

I don't think so. I've had most for so many years without using them. The Sinclair Spectrum collection for example takes up roughly 2 cubic metres. And non of the boxes have been opened for 10+ years. The Amiga stuff about 3.5 cubic metres.

I'm never going to have this space again.

For the love of god, when you have sold everything make sure you tell the new lady friend all you got for it was £50 and a mars bar..... Otherwise it's off to Jimmy Choos for you!

Good luck chap in the new adventure

I sold off my massive retro collection some years ago in prep for marriage etc. And it felt good to get rid of alot of it. But I kept one or two machines (and glad I did!) so pick a couple of your favourite and concentrate on those, as long as you have space for a small "Retro" corner/table in the living room :D Best thing I did, now I enjoy "concentrated" retro gaming :)

I do still get the urge to buy more of course (I did add a PC Engine and Neo Geo AES), but now i'm quite content, I hope!! :D

I've now got my fave 8bit compy and console (C64, PC Engine), fave 16/32Bit compy and console (Amiga 1200, CDTV, Neo Geo AES). But I must admit i'm hankering for a Dreamcast too! :help:

Looking forward to seeing your restorations though, and good luck with the lady and house
