Is a highly configurable gamepad that is also configurable by its software, using joyport data transfer.
Has 3 fire button and compatible not only with C64, but Amiga also. (Configurator software is currently availyble for C64 only)
Gamepad for Commodore 64, VIC-20, C128, Amiga, etc.
Is a highly configurable gamepad for Commodore computers.
Any function can be assigned to any button, or same function to even all buttons or even one button to all function.
Configuration can be done by its configurator program (Only C64), that is able to read and write configuration on the gamepad using the joystick ports to transfer data.
Or by key combinations as described below:
Basic functions:
4 directions 3 fire buttons and 1 select/menu button.
The two extra fire buttons can also work in C64 and Amiga compatible mode.
4 different frequency autofire.
4 independent button assignment memory slot.
Functions:
Auto fire:
To activate, short press the menu button. (Default is select)
then use the direction buttons to select the desired frequency.
Once the desired frequency has been selected, it can be activated and deactivated by pressing the fire button.
If you want to turn it off completely, you need to briefly press the menu button
Button assignment memory:
Long press the menu button (2 seconds), then use the direction buttons to select the button assignment you want to activate.
Changing the button assignment:
Press and hold the menu and start buttons together with the two red buttons for 2 sec. Then the currently active button assignment can be changed.
It is worth starting a joystick tester program that can show all the functions, because this is how the gamepad can show
which function it is currently configuring.
For example, if up direction is active, you have 5 seconds to press the button you want to use for this function. (You can also specify multiple buttons)
Since the menu button is not an output function, the gamepad displays it in such a way that it activates all the functions. Then it waits for the menu button to be specified.
As soon as it reaches the end, the new preset overwrites the old one and is activated.
Switching between C64 and Amiga mode:
You have to press and hold the Select and Start buttons.
----------------------------------------
Using the configurator program (C64 only):
The purpose of the configuration program is to make it easier to customize the gamepad.
The currently active settings can be downloaded from the gamepad by pressing the F7 button.
The currently active port is shown in the upper left part of the program. This can be switched with the F5 button.
Below it is the compatibility mode. This can be changed with the F6 (F5 + shift) button combination
On the right, the Active preset and the currently edited preset are shown (is displayed as a configuration matrix). These can be changed with the F2 - F4 and F1 - F3 buttons.
On the top right, there is a simple gamepad tester/button assignment control panel. It must be activated with F8 (You can also exit it with F7.)
The majority of the screen is filled with the configurator matrix.
The output functions are shown on the horizontal header of the matrix.
The vertical rows show the gamepad buttons. (Wherever you put the check mark horizontally, that output function will be activated.)
Here you can set any button combination.
You can save the new configuration by pressing return.
