This is a preordering thread for newest project, called the new RCA connector panel for Commodore 1084-S (D1 and P1 also, but not for 1084) and Philips CM8833-II (and not for MK1)!
Cause this is a new project and I would like to assess the needs, I would like to collect first ten paid preorders before I will start to order the pcbs, parts, and assemble the panels! Delivery time maybe 1 month from now, but not before 01 of June!
I have collected some crts from these types in the past years, and I think this is the time to change the old one and rusty rca panels inside the CRT! The original one hard to find part at this moment, and there is no result with about one year discovering and mailing with many suppliers at China (and rest of world of course). Thats why born this idea at last Xmas... I think the final version will pretty, and working well! Its plug 'n' video!
...And a good idea this panel instead adding a 4th ugly connector to the original RCA panel if you would like to modding your Philips CM8833-II to get working with chroma+luma signal!
Here are many great pics from the first panel (this is the prototype), showing in a standalone, installed (soldered) to a mainboard, and beside with the original RCA connector. The panel made from LUMBERG high qualiy RCA connectors with professional black tinted pcb, and 0.8mm copper rods for the connectors. In the pictures the RCA conns not yet soldered.
The KIT contains soldered three RCA connectors to the board, and one unsoldered (for the non-modded CM8833-II), with copper rods, and a new screw to mounting the panel to the chassis back!
