Does anyone know what the prices were for A1200 turbo cards back in the day? (1993/4) It's for a shop window I'm dressing up, and of course I'd be a fool if I let PC rubbish in there.

Thanks.

Hi mate

Examples from Amiga Shopper June 1994:
Microbotics:
M1230 XA 33MHz, 0mb £245.99
M1230 XA 40MHz, 0mb £264.99
M1230 XA 50MHz, 0mb £334.99

GVP:
A1230-II 40MHz 68030ec NO MMU, 8mb, £649
A1230-II 50MHz 68030 WITH MMU, 8mb, £779

Hawk: Ram only
8mb, £399
8mb with 40MHz FPU, £499

Hope this helps in some way.

I thought prices were your big NO-NO 's here ?

Hi Buzzfuzz, I really hope this is not seen as price driving, I am simply passing on information that is freely available in magazines from 'the era'.
I also think most people on here would know roughly how much cards were new back in the 90's anyway. I don't think information like this needs to be censured. After all, I don't think anyone is daft enough to advertise or buy something on the basis of it costing £699 new in 1994 and now being sold for £399 on here in 2011!

:-)

It is against the rules to comment on current prices and what items are worth today.

But a thread was recently started on here asking what items we bought in the day and how much we paid for them.

I even remember posting that my 2000HD cost me £1,338 in July 1990

We even had a link to some old pages from an Argos catalouge on here.

So to summarise you can comment on historical prices but not current prices.
