Want to buy a Pro Audio Spectrum 16 sound card, preferably with the SCSI controller (not available with IDE controller as far as I know?).

Pardon my comment, but that's pin 1 on a 50 pin SCSI-2 interface, so it's ground, along with 23 others. Even if that minor bit of "shielding" would be critical to its function, it will be connect on the drive's end, there's only one "ground" potential in a system:

So, if it's not about looks, then go with csabanw's card, (if it's alright otherwise).


(Also, 45 € seems a bit sporty for a PAS-16, they're not that rare. I'd say 35 or so. Wanted one for quite some time now, but wouldn't spend 30 bucks on one, sorry. But maybe it's different with the Sigma Designs variety, they're less common, I guess.)
