Pronunciation of Moebius Goatlizard

Please end a heated debate in our household.

Moebius Goatlizard for the Amiga. How should it be pronounced?

We can agree on the Goatlizard bit, as it's two words glued together, but Moebius?

I think it's pronounced Mo-be-uss, similar to Sonic the Hedgehog's home planet. Other's argue that it's Mo-eb-ee-uss, because of the extra 'e'.

I'd pronounce it 'Mööbius'.

It depends where the person who invented the word comes from.

In German oe = ö so it would be Möbius = Muhh-be-us

I still pronounce it Mo-be-us as in "Mobius Circle" though

It could even be pronounced Mee-bius, if you use the same pronunciation that is used in the name Phoebe or in the word Phoenix. That's the one I go with.

I've always gone with Moh-be-ous. (as in marvelous). That's just me though, I didn't name the character.

Usually I just shorten it to Moby.
