Hi All,
been out of it for quite some time. I ordered some ram for my Amitek Hawk off ebay. A bunch of 4mb simms, I want to test the ram and pass on any excess sticks to those that might want them. 4mb as I need the PCMCIA slot support and only really plan on using the A1200 for some light gaming. Any good applications to test?
Second question, I can add an FPU to the Hawk, would I see any benefit in games like Frontier or Gloom? I did some searching, but non the wiser.
Cheers in advance.

Okay updated. Looks like the board is problematic. Basically if its configured for 2/4/8mb simms it will fail half way through the ram test. 1mb works consistently and that's what it came with originally when I bought it back in the 90s. FPUs seem to be super niche. Oh well. I am not working at the moment and can't warrant spending any more on the hobby for now. Pretty sure I have 1x 2mb, 4x 4mb and 1x 8mb 72pin simms going spare now.

The hawk can be a fussy card, it can be trial and error with memory modules to get one that works correctly, particularly the 8mb ones.

I don't think the games you mentioned make use of an FPU, it was mostly Ray tracing or productivity applications along with a few demos.
