Re: Quick Poll for the petrol heads

I voted Alfa GT 1.9 JTDm Cloverleaf cos it sounds lucky. Volvo's are crap tanks imo; Ducati includes bikes & their dry clutches sound like a bag of nails rattling to death.

Anyhoos, where's the VR6 or R32 option!

Only 'cos I'm not behind the wheel. :p

I've had passengers with their feet on the windsceen approaching roundabouts, whilst still rolling a ciggy.

*edit* also, the VR6/R32 doesn't look like a Hearse.

Hmm, a choice between an ugly Swede or two ugly Italians.

Really, I can't think of any of the three that could be a good candidate to get my vote, I find them all equally ugly. If I don't look at the outside I might pick the Volvo since I prefer the look of the instruments to that of the Alfas.

<Blank Stare>Wait a minute! You're telling me there are differences between cars? I thought they all took you down the road...</Blank Stare>

LOL! I honestly have no idea. I need a new car but I just want one that will last for 10 years without a lot of trouble. :)

If I had my sensible head on then it would have to be the Volvo, for reliability, build quality and cheaper long term running costs.

If I had my design head on then it would have to be the Alfa GT. It has some great external lines and looks the part. But also when I first sat in one when they first launched I was surprised by the build quality and feel of quality, which I hadn't ever felt in an Alfa before that.

I don't feel the same about the 147 though. This Alfa model has always looked a bit Rover 214 in style and very stuck in the 90's. Its build quality has also looked like Alfa's of old too.

Personally I wouldn't pick any of them. Don't like this model of Volvo, don't like the 147, and whilst I do like the exterior of the GT, I hate the Alfa interiors as to me they look a bit too Vauxhall Astra (i.e. cheap).

But if I had to pick one it would be the GT.
