Okay so it turns out I have started yet another project while I reconsider my Amiga builds. With my CRT turning out to be too much eye pain in low Hz with Amiga and Indivision aga, I have now repurposed it to being a part of a MAME project.
First things first, I will be using my primary computer for this for now so it will definitely have enough horsepower and so I should be able to make the monitor run in 75 or 85Hz which should be easier on my eyes than 50 or 60Hz.
Controller will be x-arcade dual fightstick that I recently managed to purchase of this very same forum. Cabin may be made later and for now I will just have a temporary shelf for the CRT and controller. I think I might just build an upper part of a cabin on top of a shelf I use for storing items to save space on my room.
I haven´t been following the MAME scene for a lot so I am looking for hints and suggestions on what games to try out. I very much enjoy shmups and action games which should suit the controller quite nicely indeed. Driving games that work with a mere stick and buttons controller are also of interest. I´m mostly looking for games of the late 80s and 90s as I want them to be graphically impressive 2d games, (more so than Amiga games) not so much interested about the 70s and early 80s but some of the real classics I will try.
