Hi, just finally activating this account as it's time to fix up my A2000. I bought it many years ago on ebay and for the last 10 it has functioned only as a monitor stand. Kind of a sad story really, only recently I found out about the battery problem. Sure enough, leaked and damaged a few things, mostly connectors and sockets.

Still, it could have been worse. I fix arcade and pinball stuff and this level of damage is nothing compared to the savagery of 3x leaking Duracell AAs or high capacity Spanish Ni-CDs.

Well the power supply and motherboard are running now, got a b&w composite output running with the parts on the bench.

Had to replace:
68k socket
62402 ROM socket
Keyboard socket
Both 9 pin joystick/mouse sockets
Battery (with one of those diode & coincell ones)

The Zorro connectors cleaned up, I'll try them before buying in more parts. Got a hard disk (15mb....) board, accelerator card and a line doubler to test. Need to clean the case and reassemble more of it before I mess with those. Keyboard totally stripped and cleaned.

Well - floppy drive works, keyboard and mouse work, accelerator card works, going pretty well so far.
