I own one, it's dead as doornail. Causes black screen on the A1200.
Electrically it seems fine.

Do the actual flash files for the AM29F040B and the AMD MACH231 exist?

Mine has no scsi and an 040 installed.

Edit: mmm, I think at least 2 of the CY7C37 are fried. I have a short to ground on the CY7C37 close to the PPC CPU on pins:
  • I/O29 (pin 35)
  • I/O6 (pin 2)
  • I/O13 (pin 13)
  • I/O22 (pin 24)

These pins all have an smd cap in common, 1 side of that cap is shorted to gnd. At least the one next to the PPC CPU is getting really hot, like 80c. I would have to remove the CY7C37 to be sure, but it seems fried.

If the card was not used for some time, it can happen that the content of the flash got corrupted. I had a card that would go behind the blackscreen once on 40 times. I think i tried to get it past the blackscreen by pressing 2 on startup. After getting into the shell booting from fdd, i flashed the card with the appriopriate flash and since then the card worked reliably.

The question is if your problem is caused by the same thing.

Same, I've had corrupted flash on BPPC, was able to get it going by forcing a flash, but maybe will need to be done with a programmer.

I bought one not long ago as not working that black-screens. The upper crystal socket is missing with one post left. Other than that it looks intact. It has an LC 060

Hey guys, yes I am aware of the "basics" this card has more issues, I want to prepare for the worst. The amiga doesn't boot at all, double mouse, or pressing 2, no show. This card has been worked on prior and I just started investigating things. anyway, I would rally appreciate the flash firmware, if it exists for me to flash via a T48 programmer.

Update:
I think I found the right blizzardppc.rom but its for a 68060 and scsci. Mine has no scsi, I can fit a 060LC, I have that too.
In HEX editor I read this: 68060 BootStrap V1.8 (c) phase 5 digital products 1993-1999.

And some other details. Now I need to find the rom for the MACH, if that has failed, oh boy....
