I am not sure if this has been posted, but the next Retro Computing event has been scheduled for September.

The AmiBay gang that stormed the Bytes Back event just recently all had a great time and it was a great chance to meet and catch up with fellow forum members.

Price is £10 (around 6p a day from now till the event)

Oh and its good to be back!!

@JUV - Not convinced my PMs are working for some reason - but I still need to get this joystick across to you. I gave you my card at BB, drop me a line on the email address on there and we can sort it out.

@ Kin

It's in 'God's Country' as far as you are concerned (Huddersfield).

I missed out on Byte Back, so I will definitely be at this one!!

Re: Retro Reunited

My roots are that Area....just down the road @ "Brighouse" but my mother was a Huddersfield girl & her dad was a Forman @ David Brown Tractors all his life to the summer of '62 when he passed away. My Cousin Andrew lived in Holmfirth & it was fun watching "Last of the Summer Wine" being made in the streets & yet I have never had the urge to go back & visit.
I've gotten so used to cleaner living in Cornwall, it pi$$ed me off driving to Coventry recently & having to wash my hands for driving my car!?
The smog & crap in the Air up North from here is terrible & get this......

When I were a lad living in Hemsworth, we had coal dust in the gutters on our Greenhouse! Hows that for Healthy living!?!? - Mother had one of those inhalers back then & when we moved to Cornwall in '79 she didn't need her inhaler anymore!

Not so sure I want to go now I've said all this.....

Re: Retro Reunited

Quick question...

What are the chances of arranging an Amibay meet? Maybe in the style of a bring and buy sale?

The guys on Amiga.org were trying to arrange something like this but I thought I'd mention it here to gauge interest...

Cheers,
AndyC

Hmmm, mulling this one over. Will have a chat with the missus, if it's anywhere near as much fun as Byte Back I'm gunning for it.

Re: Retro Reunited

Darn it! Why'd I have to be born in the United States? I miss out on all the good retro events.

I hope you all have a great time! I'm totally jealous! :D

I think that isn't a bad idea; Let me talk to the team about it and kick around a few ideas for a venue. I think it's right up our street as a trading site.

Cheers

How about some T-Shirts with pics of our International Members on them?

Re: Retro Reunited

I'd like to attent this event but as i'm not a driver i would like to know if anyone in or around Nottingham is attending and if so would they mind me car sharing? (obviously I would contribute to any travel costs)

Re: Retro Reunited

I'm giving serious thought to heading down from Scotland for this - it's not that far really...

Anyone else thinking of coming from up north?

Also, did anything ever come of my suggestion for an Amibay "bring & buy"meet?

Cheers,
AndyC

Re: Retro Reunited

Leave, Room & Tickets all booked. Zetro and I will be heading up for this extravaganza. If we can just decide on a route and find a Sat Nav that doesn't use road maps from the 1980s. (y)
