The actor David Warner has passed away. He starred in many films, but remember him best as a Klingon in Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country and as Admiral Tolwyn in Wing Commander. May you have clear skies and smooth sailing, David.

Although I'm a Star Trek fan I had to look him up to recognise the name

His IMDb entry is super rich with his abilities as an actor both on-screen and behind the mic doing voice work. From Scooby Doo to Babylon 5, Midsommer Murders to Tron. He could do it all with ease.

His best quote IMHO is "If people are given quality stuff to watch, they'll watch it."

R.I.P David.

The best Doctor Who we never had, unfortunately.

RIP.

ST:TNG fans will remember him as Gul Madred, the Cardassian jailer who tortured Picard and we ended up with the "there are four lights" moment.

According to one source:

David Warner was emergency cast as Gul Madred just three days before filming, and had no time to learn his lines. He’s literally reading them from cue cards just off camera in every shot. And because he is a British-trained professional, he created one of Star Trek’s most chilling villains.

Wow, that's amazing if true. His acting and delivery were immaculate in that role.

He was also in Titanic, I forgot to mention that.

also the 'villain' in the original Tron (1982), Ed Dillinger / Sark / MCP

one of the very first things I saw him in.

Mr. North, starring Anthony Edwards, where Warner again plays 'the bad guy', Dr. MacPherson, is also a tremendous movie.

I could be wrong, but I think David was the only actor to play a human, a Klingon and a Cardassian. He also played St. John Talbot in Star Trek V.

A very young, David Warner of the Royal Shakespeare Company trying on a crown in his dressing room in 1964.

And The Omen.
