Hi to all :)

Searching a bit, I have found some adapters "RS232 9PIN to PS2" described as "standard" ones at very good price.

Anyone knows if these adapters can works in the Amiga mouse port?

Thanks

Hello my friend,

hmmm RS232 is actually a serial standard not a port standard... there are many 9PIN ports - the common one we use for joysticks is actually a DeB9 Plug -

These connectors are predominately digital interfaces with a couple of POT's (potentiometers) used for X and Y.

The Playstation controller is more like a serial device, a lot like the SNES adapters - it wouldn't take much to arbitrate a PS1 or 2 controller with a Serial bus, however you would need to write some software to use it - a Serial device wouldn't work with most games, or any that are WHDLoad since it wont have a driver or looking at a port for its input.

Have you a link to these items my friend, I can have a look and offer you a better opinion if these are SERIAL or DeB9 digital compatible.

I think finding the correct mouse to use could be very tricky. The line in the auction "These adaptors will only work with a Combination PS2 Mouse which gives out both Serial and PS2 signals." suggests so.

Also, you would then need to convert the Serial signal to Amiga...

Probably not a good buy me thinks :)

yeah it won't work on the amiga or any pc mouse that does not support both serial and ps2 protocols... to add more to that, the amiga and pc serial mice protocols are different too...

Hi to all :)

Thanks for the answers

I don't want incompatibilities...... :D

More expensive, but finally I bought a pair of Cocolino's from amigakit.
