Does anybody know where I can get a working "SATA to 44 pin IDE adpater" for the internal A1200 IDE port?

Regards

I bought half a dozen last year off the other bay, they was dirt cheap but came direct from China which took a couple week. They work brilliant in the PC's I've used them in, but never tried one in the Amiga. They should work ok, but you will need a floppy power splitter cable and a 2.5 to 3.5 IDE adaptor. They might do them in 2.5 though I didn't look, if so you can omit the 3.5 to 2.5 adaptor.

Hi all!

I have got this setup:
A1200_CF_backplate_installation.jpeg

A1200_CF_backplate_sm.jpeg

and I plug a CF in the exterior port and it works fine.

The problem appears when I plug a second drive in the other IDE connector (the nearest IDE plug to A1200 plug). I bought a SATA SSD disk (120GB) and one 2.5" Male IDE To 7+15 Pin Female SATA HDD SSD Adapter ( http://www.ebay.es/itm/272079185593?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT). The Hard Disk LED lights on and stays fixed . After a while the A1200 requests the Workbench disk.

CF has two partitions: dh0 y dh1 ( one of them is a boot particion - 400 Megas ). Dh0 and Dh1 have PFS3 All-in-One. I load a scsi.device version 44.2.
SSD has two partitions (dh2 (100GB) y dh3 (20GB)) with PFS3 All-in-One.

This setup works properly in WinUAE.

Any idea?

I don't know if you are aware of this but one drive needs to be master and the other slave.

I have found that it's easier to use an eide'99 or idefix to attach 2 drives to the same 44 pin port with one cable. I used an eide myself to use a CDrom. Without the eide the CDrom wouldn't work. The added bonus is that you can also use 40 pin devices.

The cheap adapters work in Amiga's i've used sata drives without problems. But as has been said there are problems setting master and slave. Sata does not use master and slave and when connected to the ide port using an adapter i've yet to get more than one drive working per channel. You will need an ide splitter interface to connect something else at the same time.
