Has anyone tried this? I'm also wondering about using any sort of SCART converter to convert the PAL signal into NTSC and getting a clean picture on a modern NTSC screen. Whether it be HDMI, composite or otherwise. Is that possible? Do you need something else at the hardware or software level? Sorry if this is stupid question, I'm still trying to learn about how things work on Amiga.

I don't think you can just build/buy a simple cable that would result in getting HDMI output from a SCART socket. They probably have stuff like that for sale, but i highly doubt it'd be of any use. As about PAL to NTSC, you should first mention what Amiga model you got. For example, the A4000 has jumpers onboard that help switch from one signal to the other.
By the way, welcome aboard!

You'll need a SCART to HDMI converter box, like this one from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/CKITZE-BG-460-System-Digital-Converter/dp/B00988GMLG

I ordered the one above, and it works great for RGB input from the Amiga (using an Amiga RGB to SCART cable). Both 50Hz (PAL) and NTSC (60Hz) work just fine, and the converter will also deinterlace for you in case you're running an interlaced screenmode.

I have tried several of those ebay SCART to HDMI converters and they are generally horrible in regards to latency, which is important if you want to use it with games. Also, some of them doesn't even support SCART RGB but only Composite and S-Video which means you won't get a picture at all with an Amiga RGB SCART cable.

I just got one of these, and while it is not exactly cheap, it is one of the best solutions I've seen:

Very nice picture quality with scanline emulation and hardly any latency makes it almost ideal for using your classic Amiga with modern screens.
