ok it isnt really a rant as such, more a service to anyone that happens to read schematics,so more of a warning

but,i didnt know where else to put it,so here goes

if you like to browse the net looking for schematics to fix old equipment or repairs
for instance in some regions of the web is schematics redrawn or reverse engineered that have mistakes in them by third persons draftsmen

so be careful to not use anything by jersey sabola etc that been around a few years on the net with addon devices etc or redrawn/reverse engineered schematics for semi hard to get hardware or addons for computers as most of them have mistakes in,it may be common knowledge but worth passing on,to not use them as reference material unless you really know what your doing anyway and not just simple fault finding where you would need the abitly to fix the mistakes in the drawings
some of his drawings are being used on wiki's and commodore sites on the net and have been for quite a long time

there are others out there but this person nearly always makes mistakes in his drawings and can be ranging from subtle to outright wrong and they are never updated or corrected by anyone so be careful, they could be easily taken as reliable reference at a glance

like i say its not really a rant as such, but if you like electronics or want to do your own repairs beware of what you look at on the net as far as schematics go
even a service manual can have mistakes in but these ones can lead to a device not working after or having unpredictable results

Good call, and quite important actually, because many would not really consider this. It's very useful to have a general skepticism towards home-reversed engineered/drawn schematics :)

Thanks, hadn't heard of that person before, but I never trust any schematics that aren't a scan of the original service manual.

Bryce.
